Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Crimes Director to join Financial Crimes Risk Management. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com . The Financial Crimes Director will be responsible for leading FCRM's risk assessment approach, methodology, process, tool, and published guidance and reporting. Financial Crimes Risk Management conducts the risk assessments for Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML), Global Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption across the Company through collaboration with the first and second lines of defense. This position regularly interfaces directly with senior leaders in all lines of defense, other risk types (e.g., Compliance risk, Operational risk), Internal Audit, and Wells Fargo's second line testing team.

In this role, you will:
- Manage a team to accomplish department goals and priorities.
- Foster a culture of talent development that aligns to the department meeting business objectives and strategy.
- Ensure FCRM Risk Assessments (to included Enterprise Wide and Targeted Risk Assessments) meet the requirements and expectations of the regulators, the Head of FCRM, the Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Risk Officer, the Board of Directors, and the financial crimes leaders in the businesses. This includes assessing changes to regulations and expectations and producing sound analysis and solutions for any necessary changes to FCRM risk assessments.
- Build a strong understanding of the Global FCRM program and staying abreast of emerging risks that may impact the program and use that understanding combined with your financial crimes expertise to execute risk identification, risk analysis, and strategic challenge and change.
- Ensure the timely completion of FCRM risk assessment activities.
- Produce high quality and valuable (as defined by the stakeholders) deliverables on the financial crimes risk assessments with minimal errors, strong analysis, and sound results.
- Timely triage potential concerns and issues, create and present solution options that address root causes, and execute timely remediation.
- Foster strong relationships and partnerships with other Risk Assessment leaders in other risk types, FCRM Subject Matter Experts with roles in the FCRM Risk Assessment process, designated financial crimes leaders in the businesses, and policy owners for enterprise-wide policies for risk assessments.
- Know and maintain compliance with policies and requirements applicable to the FCRM Risk Assessment department (e.g., data management, record retention, assessment scales).
- Assess existing, and implement changes to, the design, approach, methodologies, calculations, process, and tools for FCRM risk assessments - many of which are considered an initiative large enough to trigger change management requirements.
- Meet with regulators, Internal Audit, second line testing, and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to walkthrough FCRM risk assessment processes, controls, and tools and respond to their requests, potential findings, and results.
- Lead the team's efforts to perform FCRM's analysis of the Compliance risk assessment drafted results and provide inputs for how those differ (if any) from FCRM risk assessment results for that business, group, and the enterprise.
- Adapt to new requests, quick turnaround times, and changes to existing processes in a positive and professional manner while executing in a fast paced, high demand, environment, and balancing multiple priorities.
- Execute reviews of risk assessments meeting the department's established criteria for requiring the FCRM Senior Manager's review (e.g., high residual risk).
- Fulfill the Control Owner role's responsibilities for FCRM Risk Assessment controls in the Company's Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process.
- Assist in fulfilling the Application Owner role for the existing FCRM risk assessment tool and for the replacement FCRM risk assessment tool. Lead the department's efforts in the building of the replacement tool and status reporting to senior management.
- Continue to identify and implement efficiencies (e.g., more automated data feeds) and enhancements to effectiveness for FCRM risk assessments.
- Exhibit through behaviors an appreciation and respect for diverse persons, ideas, and perspectives with a focus on fostering an inclusive workplace environment.
- 8+ years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience.
- 8+ years of BSA/AML and Global Sanctions experience.
- Advanced level of experience surrounding risks, controls, risk mitigation, and assessing inherent risk and residual risk.
- Advanced level of experience in Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) roles and or assessing, auditing, testing ABC risk and controls.
- Experience communicating with regulators, auditors, and other testing bodies.
- Effective communicator, with a proven success record of articulating complex concepts in a clear manner, verbal and written, that is valuable to stakeholders across various levels of the Company.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across various levels within the organization.
- Proven leadership skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions.
- Consistent handling of sensitive and confidential material in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks and raise issues, escalate early, and engage in constructive challenge.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, tasks, and complex projects while meeting deadlines and achieving business goals.
- Considered respectful for diverse persons, ideas, and perspectives with a focus on fostering an inclusive workplace environment.
- Active Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), and/or Wells Fargo AML/Sanctions Credential
- Good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork.
