About this Role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Due Diligence Consultant.

This position will be working with the International KYC team within the Financial Crimes Operations organization. The End-to-End KYC team is responsible for Onboarding or periodic review of customers. The Due Diligence Consultant will report to a Financial Crimes Associate Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Engage with clients directly or indirectly through relationship managers to support meeting policies or regulatory requirements and focus on client satisfaction.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and background investigations on transactions, individuals, entities, organizations, or locations to identify and mitigate risks through documenting findings.
  • The candidate must be a highly self-motivated and high performing individual.
  • Review basic issues, policies or procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained related to lower risk tasks and deliverables with narrower impact.
  • Run periodic due diligence reporting supporting processes reflective of the current business environment.
  • Gather and input data utilizing resources to identify documentation required to meet policy or regulatory requirements.
  • Receive direction from supervisor and exercise judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Profound knowledge of local due diligence requirements of EU countries as applicable to high/very high-risk entities.
  • Hands on experience on enhanced due diligence requirements for Trusts/SPVs/financial institutions
  • Analyze and verify customer information and documentation to identify potential risks and discrepancies.
  • End to end knowledge of RFI's/outreach process for gathering requiring client data by profiling their documents.
  • Assess the risk level associated with new and existing customers using defined criteria.
  • Perform continuous monitoring and screening of clients against various watchlist, sanctions list and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively articulate findings and recommendations
  • Proficient in due diligence databases, KYC software and other investigative tools.
  • Maintain and update customer profiles in compliance with internal policies and global regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve KYC related issues and provide guidance on regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with changes in KYC regulations and industry best practices.

  • 2+ years of Due Diligence experience, or equivalent (including risk management, client service, operations support, or business process management) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and a broad background in Commercial Banking and in Corporate and Investment Banking.
  • Experience in operational risk management processes and/or compliance and / or audit and / or regulatory programs with KYC duties.
  • Thorough understanding of CIP/CDD/EDD requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship/partnership building skills.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
Job Expectations:
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience.
  • Subject matter expert in EMEA KYC Onboarding/Periodic Review is a must.
  • Strong knowledge End-to-End KYC, Client Onboarding, Periodic Refresh for High-risk clients, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics.
