In this position, the candidate is responsible for execution of the datacenter exit and cloud migration strategy across the enterprise including: creating solution designs for enabling Application Development and vendor groups with the necessary tools & frameworks to migrate to new datacenters and/or cloud, collaborating on best practices and technical guidance to operate within new datacenters and cloud, establishing cloud adoption frameworks for consistent change/release management, deliver robust end-to-end solution designs, and providing operational transparency through metrics and communications on the overall progress. As a member of the team, you will be a part of an organization enabling & accelerating CIO's business value through meaningful moves of business workloads to new datacenters and cloud (public and private) in a predictable, compliant, and scalable way.

You will be part of the DISP Portfolio Management team. The team will be focused on creating and sharing best practices and technical guidance required by the application and platform teams across the Line of Businesses, while developing and operating in a cloud environment. This group will also be responsible for collaborating with the Line of Businesses to ensure comprehensive solution designs, effective partnerships, proper representation for the voice of the customer, and operational readiness of the Application Development teams to ensure that they are well equipped to operate a cloud native/friendly application.
These Lead Engineers will be accountable for helping exits from heritage sites and platforms to the cloud and/or new data center portfolio. This role will identify the solution design / workload placement for an application to exit heritage sites to Cloud and/or new data center portfolio by collaborating with CIO Application, Cloud, DC Exit. Migration Factory, Cyber Security and Operations teams. The selected candidate will have deep vertical expertise in Compute, Cyber, Network, Azure and Google technologies. Detailed assessment of the legacy application portfolio will be completed in collaboration with the Horizontal functions as the exit plan is defined and finalized. The team will plan the exits with precision and no unplanned business interruption.

In this role you will:
- Define migration strategies, apply to applications
- Define migration strategy: Swing active workload to backup site while primary site is migrated, lift/shift, physical to virtual and virtual to physical
- Data replication: initial synch and ongoing deltas/changes maintained until cutover
- Define the multiple data migration strategies and use cases: database, object, NAS, backup, unstructured user data.
- Address data retention & offsite stg as part of migration
- Identify non-standard hosting solutions, define migration strategy: Unisys, Teradata, iSeries
- Assess multi-tenancy apps, ensure necessary resilience and capacity is built in target sites. Requires approach for applications and shared services.
- Leverage site design for improved resilience and higher levels of workload (increased densification on host platforms)
- Execution of the datacenter exit and cloud migration strategy across the enterprise
- Creating solution designs for enabling Application Development and vendor groups with the necessary tools & frameworks to migrate to new datacenters and/or cloud
- Collaborating on best practices and technical guidance to operate within new datacenters and cloud, establishing cloud adoption frameworks for consistent change/release management,
- Deliver robust end-to-end solution designs, and providing operational transparency through metrics and communications on the overall progress.
- Proper representation for the voice of the customer
- Operational readiness of the Application Development teams to ensure that they are well equipped to operate a cloud native/friendly application
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3-5+ years of proven hands-on skills in both cloud and infrastructure solutions and application deployment patterns
- Understanding of common security practice such a LDAP/AD-ENT: termination points such as SSL certificates
- Experience with major product refreshes and adoption to Agile
- Experience working in multi-developer environment using version control (i.e. Git)
- Exposure to REST API/Microservice
- The ability to script/code using Python
- Experience with hosting administration roles and Kanban
- Experience with technical solutioning and system architecture design
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with other technical teams (i.e. data ingestion, data science, operational systems) to align priorities and achieve deliverable outcomes
- Experience with reviewing coding standards, performing code reviews, and mentoring junior team members
- Experience overseeing project delivery by mentoring junior technical developers
- Experience working in an agile delivery environment
- Experience with Azure at scale
- Experience with deployment/scaling of applications on containerized environment (i.e. Kubernetes, AKS)
- This role offers a hybrid in-office work schedule

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
