About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Digital Experience Monitoring Senior Engineering Manager who will be part of the observability engineering and automation team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the firm's Digital Experience platforms, covering synthetics, end user experience, cloud hosted application and internet sentiment monitoring. As a technical thought leader with a wide experience and knowledge of vendor and open-source monitoring products and solutions, you will use your experience to help shape the future of monitoring eco-system and deliver a class leading service. Experience with both vendor and open-source products is required as is a solid background in software development.

This is a hands-on role, your skills will be used to drive, mentor and ultimately deliver solutions in a CI/CD fashion.

You will be highly experienced working in an Agile fashion and be responsible for managing all aspects of the product delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of individual contributor engineers
  • Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
  • Engage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of more experienced engineers
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for developing product functional and technical strategies for the domains, as well as the development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps, by partnering with business product managers, lead systems architects, and more experienced engineers
  • Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities
  • Interpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology risk
  • Collaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomes
  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering
  • Adopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and openness.
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Experience
  • Strong knowledge of industry leading monitoring solutions both vendor owned and open-source
  • Hands on engineer who is comfortable in delivery as well as managing a team of engineers
  • Strong customer engagement skills and strong financial acumen.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions having implemented advanced monitoring and automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems for both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-cloud environments
  • Experience working as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer in a scaled cloud environment.
  • Proven leader in the engineering environment and have a proven record in transforming environments whilst managing the costs of the monitoring products closely.
Required skills:
  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years experience with monitoring tools
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
  • 3+ years of direct people management
  • Experience in Data analysis, Data Import and Data Feeds
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years' experience with design and development of microservices
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
  • Experience in one or a combination of the following: Capacity Analytics, time series metrics analysis, Telemetry, Monitoring, Observability
  • Experience of modern software development lifecycle, including TDD, CI/CD, Pairing, Build Automations, Automated Testing, Agile Games, Chaos Engineering
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, and product operating model
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis, separation of duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: solutions development
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in one of the listed work locations 3 days per week on-site/in office and 2 days per week remote

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
