About this role:

This position will be part of Y14 Regulatory reporting team. Y14 Regulatory team is responsible to provide various Regulatory reports like Schedule H (C&I, CRE loans), Large Corporation Syndicated Credits, Small Loan cost survey (FR2028D), HC-L, 14M and Leverage Lending. These reports require an in-depth knowledge of various accounting terms like Invoice Factoring, fronting, Swinglines, Commitment to Commit and Disposition. The Regulatory team provides data as asked by Regulatory Template. It is a team of Regulatory data SME's that work with the various upstream systems to standardize data and support the data for FR Y-14 Regulatory reporting function of Commercial Banking.

Manage and perform key activities encompass supporting Y14 Regulatory reporting functions including Analyzing monthly and quarterly regulatory submission reports that includes Schedule H - i.e. Commercial and Industrial Loans, Commercial and Real Estate Loans, Large Commercial Syndicated Credits, HC-L (Fronting calculations for the Swinglines for Syndicated loans), 14M, Small Scale loan survey (FR 2028D), Invoice Factoring, Fronting, Commitment to Commit records as well as analyzing data issues and dispositioning.

The position will be expected to perform complex analysis of datasets which includes (but not limited to):
  • Compose source to target data mapping / Data Lineage consisting of varying degrees of complexity based on new requirements received from onshore team
  • Conduct data validation on their own mapping or mapping output of other Data Management Consultants.
  • Understand the complex data gathering process for Regulatory Reporting and analyze production data issues and define root cause, e.g. mapping or data provider issues. Define what the issue is and provide onshore teams recommended course of action
  • Help analyzing the data streamlining to simplify overall data extraction Data Wrangling, Data Analysis leveraging internal data platforms which include SOR's (like AIMS, AFS etc.,) , CLOS's (nCino etc.,), data lakes & aggregators like IHUD, WDM, WCDIR etc.,
  • Maintain work leveraging JIRA
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operational execution for data governance, data quality or metadata
  • Recommend strategies to prioritize and remediate data quality issues that align with business needs or regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for the development of audits and controls structured around business processes and data quality target state and metadata standards
  • Manage and develop team of individual contributor roles with low to moderate complexity focused on defining data quality requirements and delivering on data integrity initiatives
  • Manage operational execution of activities related to all stages of the remediation lifecycle
  • Direct team in developing solutions, tools and processes used to maintain a common companywide data quality, control standards and data sourcing
  • Collaborate with and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers to ensure consistent approach and direction on companywide remediation efforts
  • Serve as single point of contact for escalations on low to moderate complexity issues
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
  • Overall 14+ years of experience in projects of similar nature in financial institutions
  • 8+ years of experience in Commercial Banking & Leading Loans processing
  • Experience in various Analytics methodologies and platforms
  • Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements to ensure data controls meet policy & legal standards.
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying enterprise-wide Analytics projects for Global 500 companies is desirable.
  • Ability to present and discuss information in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels
  • Significant experience working closely with senior and executive leadership.
  • Strong collaborator and empathetic listener who works with diverse groups to solicit multiple perspectives.

  • Knowledge in 14Q Regulatory Reporting space
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience in SQL - Teradata
  • Good knowledge & experience in JIRA or any Defect Management Tool
  • Good knowledge & experience in Agile Project Management Tools
  • MS Office suite
  • Exposure to Data Visualization Tools like Tableau/Power BI is a plus

  • Track and record communications (verbal or written) in specified templates

  • Own, maintain and recommend, from time to time, enhancements to process documentation and procedures (SOP)
