About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Engineering Manager, and thisrole will report directly to the EDP Senior Engineering Manager. Data Engineering Manager will be the Data Custodian for CT Data modernization and be a liaison between LOB, Enterprise Data, Information architecture and all engineering teams with CT space to ensure the application design and development best practices are implemented and build high value analytical and operational data products.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop team of data analysts with low to moderate complexity and risk in data management and technology, and engage stakeholders and internal partners
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Operate data environments, integrate with new technologies and oversee the development of new processes that support teams across the global organization
  • Gather business requirements through direct interaction with software development teams
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives and operations of data management area to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for Technology functions with low to moderate complexity
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Data Engineering and Management
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

  • 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience especially in Data & Analytics domain
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or engineering
  • Strong experience in building enterprise solutions using multiple diverse tools and programming languages including Cloud Azure or GCP, Big Data Hadoop solutions, SPARK, Tableau, Data Warehousing, Data microservices, API product architecture and design.
  • Advanced level expertise in building high performance data and analytical products
  • Ability to conduct technical training sessions for technical and line of business users
  • Technical leadership or architecture experience, in Data Engineering, Data Management, ETL, Big Data Hadoop, AI/ML capabilities
  • Experience in leading and delivering Cloud based solutions
  • Experience with Agile practices
Job Expectations:
  • Lead development efforts within the Enterprise Data & Platform team
  • Play a leadership role with transformation and modernization of the Consumer operational data and analytics ecosystems
  • Drive and accelerate Data and Analytics Strategy & Roadmap across Consumer Technology
  • Define and implement Data Solutions for private and public cloud
  • Lead and perform current state data assessments, create future state vision, strategy, roadmap
  • Partner with Enterprise Data Services organization on Enterprise Data Strategy
  • Ensure Data-related design patterns, best practices are front and center of technology practices in the organization.
  • Create and manage reusable frameworks for data engineering and establish architecture patterns for data engineering across traditional and big-data solutions
  • Lead the team with integrity and create an environment where employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, developing employees, recognizing accomplishments, managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
