About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Senior Manager to join the Consumer Lending Control Management team.

The leader will be responsible for executing key risk management priorities and programs leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies, and managing a team of professionals that perform day-to-day risk and control activities in support of the Credit Card Loyalty Solutions team.

This Control leader actively counsels group leadership on risk and control issues, issue management, and remediation and regulatory interactions. Each leader must foster a collaborative environment that ensures timely communication and strong cooperation between this front-line unit and independent risk management as well as a strong connection with Wells Fargo Audit Services.

In this role, you will:
  • Manages and develop a team of Controls Management employees from cross-functional teams in accomplishing group strategic priorities.
  • Executes and implements business control priorities and strategy; drive the control agenda across the business.
  • Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines.
  • Evaluates and provides strategic guidance for programs, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and risk strategies.
  • Identify and recommend Business Controls opportunities for process improvement and risk control development by managing and directing teams on strategy and execution of activities.
  • Supports to the business for the design of business-specific risk controls/processes and development of remediation plans to address any control weaknesses or gaps and identifies opportunities for enhancements.
  • Ensures that business control issues are proactively identified and addressed appropriately, escalating where necessary.
  • Oversees programs or initiatives related to a line of business and/or an Enterprise strategy with considerable impact across the Enterprise and externally.
  • Key interface and fosters relationships with corporate, business heads, Corporate Risk, Legal, Audit, regulators, and industry partners regarding risk management of business-specific risk programs.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and aligned with strategic objectives in Business Controls functional area.
  • Develop and guide a culture of Strong Controls Mindset, talent development to meet business objectives and strategies.
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in Credit Card/Loyalty business and risk.
  • Outstanding executive communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of presenting to senior leaders.
  • Front-line risk and controls experience, including overseeing/driving development of controls and management information (i.e., dashboards and workflow) and risk prioritization and enterprise program implementation.
  • Substantial experience executing risk management programs, particularly operational risk programs (e.g., issue management and RCSA) and managing compliance and conduct risks.
  • Strong judgment and confidence in decision-making in support of management risk tolerance in response to real-time situations, including conflict resolution and application of corporate values.
  • Collaborator and team player, able to translate prior business knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally to achieve goals and meet responsibilities.
  • Self-starter with a working knowledge of risk management fundamentals and translation of policy into operational controls.
  • Strong understanding of expected compliance risk and/or regulatory risk management controls across a variety of complex businesses.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work as a member of a broader team, and ability to adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively lead projects/discussions, work through problems and reach decisions that are in the best interest of the function and the Company.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work onsite at one of the locations listed below three days a week. Relocation assistance is not available.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
