In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop teams of specialists and managers to oversee moderate to highly complex activities associated with the development and implementation of business-specific programs, processes, and controls which identify, assess, monitor, measure, and mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals including senior managers
  • Engage and influence business heads, regulators, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk
  • Drive end-to-end design, implementation, and execution of Market Conduct & Supervision related controls from ideation to production. This includes:
  • Continuously using a risk-based approach to prioritize focus areas (e.g., by Business, asset class, source system)
  • Facilitating design and working sessions with key stakeholders
  • Proposing design and implementation approaches for evidence-based control activities including defining of relevant business requirements
  • Working with data / technical resources to source and analyze data to determine feasibility of various controls
  • Performing analysis of required data components for control activities to automate where feasible
  • Supporting execution of control activities in BAU and partner with business counterparts to escalated identified exceptions (e.g., anomalous trade alerts, trading outside of mandates)
  • Communicating and training of employees for new or enhanced associated controls

- Maintaining the Supervisory hierarchy and associated delegations

- Determining and reporting on Licensing and Registration requirements, Conflicts of Interest related controls (Personal Account Dealing, Outside Business Activities, Information Barrier)

- Identification and management of CIB Associated Persons and Regulated Users attributes

- Setting supervisory expectations and communicating and driving remediation on BAU reporting
  • Work with functions across first line, including Business Heads, Business Control Management, leadership to socialize, workshop, calibrate controls
  • Partner with 2LoD Compliance to execute Market Conduct & Supervision related policies, procedures and associated governance routines
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and materials for senior leadership to communicate control outcomes and other key metrics, KRIs and KPIs
  • Management of Audit validation and internal testing (FLIV, EBCE & IT&V)
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to lead strategy, control design, data analysis, and business requirements gathering
  • Deep knowledge of Capital Markets businesses, associated products and services, data flows, trade lifecycle(s) and relevant risks
  • Ability to create, drive, and manage project plans, and execute on the different phases of the delivery lifecycle
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Strong partnership, collaboration, and communication skills across numerous functions and seniority levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Basic data analytics tooling (e.g., Excel, SQL, VBA) to create pivot tables, charts, and prototypes
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Previous experience implementing and supporting front line supervisory controls
  • Process definition and documentation experience associated with controls and procedures
  • Ability to identify, assess and confidently raise risks and issues, escalate early, and independently engage in constructive credible challenge
  • FINRA registration including Series 7, 63, 24 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
