About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist to join the Chief Operating Office's CIB Strategy and Governance control team. This position supports our banking and client lifecycle management (CLM) group.

The Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Control organization serves as the front line of risk management and is accountable for assessing and effectively managing all associated risks for their groups. This team works to ensure internal controls, processes, and procedures are adequate and effective, and executive management understands the risks, exposures, and trends that impact the business. The group also collaborates on projects and initiatives by providing support and awareness of risks and mitigating control solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Execute CIB Banking's governance processes with a keen focus on ensuring senior business and control leaders remain abreast of risks and control topics.
  • Serve as a control partner to our Banking business and partner closely with the Banking COO team to drive the risk and control agenda and operationalize organizational awareness around controls.
  • Contribute to the Banking Controls team strategic initiatives, driving the Control agenda forward and ensuring appropriate people, processes and systems are in place to do so.
  • Work on adhoc control topics, by triaging the issue, problem solving with stakeholders, and creating clear and concise executive reporting.
  • Create risk and control dashboards and drilldowns for senior leaders, to identify areas for control enhancements.
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to CIB's global minimum governance standards in line with global regulatory expectations including various oversight metrics to measure performance vs minimum standards.

    • Ensure appropriate connectivity, linkage, and integration with in-region international risk management teams accountable for governance activities.

    • Establish regular routines with key forum participants and contributors to provide transparency into agenda topics and trends.

    • Develop and implement repeatable process to generate standardized, high quality meeting materials that clearly communicate risk trends while promoting meaningful committee discussions

    Escalation.

    • Remain abreast of changes to risk programs, risk profiles, policies, procedures and other governing documents and processes

    • Serve as a key contact for the escalation process by ensuring potential risks and issues are quickly routed to the appropriate channels upon identification.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of Corporate & Investment Banking businesses, its products and services, and relevant risks and controls of the business.
  • Strong working knowledge of governance frameworks as well as direct or relevant experience in the successful development and implementation of global minimum standards.
  • Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts and policies across risk types (regulatory, financial crimes, credit, operational, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence (verbal, written and interpersonal); proven ability to concisely articulate complex concepts in a clear manner.
  • Demonstrated capacity to pro-actively and independently analyze and solve problems and address risks with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly professional, adaptable and proactive mindset.
  • Demonstrated capability to confidently raise issues, escalate early, and engage in constructive credible challenge independently.
  • Ability to assess and determine when to raise concerns and escalate.
  • Pro-actively resolve conflict and maintain objectivity.
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop, and deliver quality analysis and highly-actionable management information.
Job Expectations:
  • Hybrid work schedule. Must be able to work from one of the approved job posting locations three (3) days in office & two (2) days remote.

Pay Range
$84,000.00 - $179,200.00
