About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Banking Strategy Vice President to work on the Banking Strategy Team within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB). The Banking Strategy team, in alignment with Banking's leadership team and COO, is a team of highly consultative professionals that drive business strategy and execution, research and analysis, competitive intelligence, business planning, internal and external executive communications, human capital strategies, and associated business analytics.

As Vice President on the Strategy team, you will help to lead teams on fast-paced projects at the top of our senior management's agenda. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in crafting reporting and analysis related to key initiatives, help refine business strategy through polished storytelling, and optimize performance across the franchise. Most projects are team-based and require meaningful collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional business partners.

In this role, you will:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Banking's leadership team, including the COO and Head of Strategy, and key partners across the organization, by being an objective, data-driven partner and advisor to senior leaders
  • Develop and execute on strategic priorities requiring deep analyses of internal metrics and industry trends
  • Oversee and execute on a portfolio of strategy / data analytics projects which lead to business outcomes that drive progress on key goals
  • Craft clear and compelling narratives by leveraging creative data visualization and story-telling to enable opportunity prioritization, recommendations, and broad consensus, which ultimately influences the strategic agenda
  • Develop senior level executive communications for board meetings, town halls, offsites, executive level dialogue, etc.
  • Lead, coach and develop junior team members both formally and informally
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience at a top-tier consulting firm, an internal strategy team at a financial institution, or within investment banking
  • Experience executing large research projects on complex topics with clear deliverables and recommendations
  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions
  • Thought leader in topics that improve the overall franchise, including strategies to drive revenue, improve efficiency, create leverage and scale, and increase process and metrics that drive behavioral change
  • Advanced level knowledge of the Investment Banking and Corporate Banking businesses
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills for executive presentations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, communicate ideas and results effectively, and drive consensus throughout the organization
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and act with urgency when supporting leadership requests
  • Ability to lead projects from inception to execution with minimal oversight
  • Strong partnering and collaboration skills
