Overview

Waters is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of a Field Technical Support Specialist ( Field Analytical Demo Chemist). Responsibilities include demonstrating Waters full range of products and services, including Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography systems, Mass Spectrometers, Software, Consumables and Services for the South East District, comprising North Carolina, South Carolina Georgia and Florida.

The desired candidate should be a self-starter, with good communication skills. Able to work as team with the local Account Managers and specialists in performing demonstrations, analyzing samples, conducting training, and delivering presentations to help drive sales in the district. The foundation of the Technical Support Specialist's role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers' technical needs/challenges and to provide support to effectively convey Waters solutions to those customers across several markets (e.g., pharmaceutical, food, translational research and materials characterization). This position will report to the Regional Business Development Manager. The ideal Candidate must live in the RTP area of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

    • Perform demonstrations on Waters solutions
    • Deliver seminars/ workshops to help develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
    • Visit customers with Territory Account Managers and Specialists to highlight Waters solutions and help customers with their challenges
    • Build technical competency on Waters solution and to be perceived by colleagues and customers as a resource
    • Help district meet or exceed its sales targets
    • Keep current on industry trends, new instrumentation, software, and competitive information
    • Develop business through monthly plan of action

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree, Masters, or PhD in scientific area such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry

Experience:

  • 5+ years chromatography experience.
  • Waters HPLC, UPLC, SFC, Mass Spec, field sales and/or marketing is a plus
  • Bio Pharmacuetical Experience is a plus
  • 25% Overnight travel is required.

Skills:

Methods development Experience is a must.

Mass Spec experience prefered

Experience with large molecule applications prefered

Empower software experience is prefered.
