Overview
Waters are seeking a Systems Whiteroom Fitter, Wilmslow!
This role covers all stages of a product's life cycle from early engineering units, through alpha, beta, pre-production and production phases. The successful candidate will assemble the mechanical and electrical elements of Water's Mass Spectrometry products in line with business requirements. Critique the design raising the appropriate project fault / engineering change requests / implementing and recording related change notes and deviations. Process customer orders for dispatch in line with departmental process.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (safety, employment, expenses, training, PPE etc).
- To project a flexible, proactive approach, coupled with a willingness to work overtime as required, to ensure the output objectives are achieved.
- To project a smart, professional and well groomed image at all times in line with the business dress code policy (document 33434).
- Ensure equipment / tools used are within calibration.
- Report non-conformance either via MFR Database or appropriate mechanism.
- Work in accordance with the relevant white room / departmental procedures.
- To ensure that the implementation and recording of engineering change is carried out effectively within the department.
- Complete detailed visual and mechanical inspections of piece part components prior to assembly and build.
- To assemble key internal components / assemblies to specification utilising the correct measuring equipment.
- To advise of design improvements and cost reductions (where applicable), using the appropriate reporting mechanisms ools ofon e of Design For Manufacture. e.g. ECR and Project fault databases.
- To Work alone or as part of a team on new project instrumentation (as directed) working with relevant departments with the ultimate goal of Design for Manufacture.
- To liaise and assist with the appropriate departments to ensure that product delivered from the supply chain conforms to drawing and specification.
- To assist the relevant depts in the creation of builds instructions for new products.
- To engineer (as directed) new product into existing or new suppliers.
- To provide support to the chemical cleaning department (as directed) acquiring an ability to clean components in accordance to specification.
- To provide support to the NPO workshop as directed.
- To process customer orders as directed.

Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering qualification.
- ONC or equivalent in an engineering discipline or relevant experience in an engineering environment.
- Excellent fault diagnosis and decision making skills.
