Overview

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our Clinical Systems Development team in our pioneering R&D facility in Wilmslow!

Clinical Systems Development develop Waters Clinical and IVD Systems, Hardware and Software. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in a new organisation, with a mission to delivering customer benefit in the clinical market segment through the evaluation, development and deployment of innovative clinical system capabilities.

By joining our team, you will aid in the design, development and maintenance of software related clinical products though testing for the company, to influence continual technical learning within the department and to ensure that software generated by the company is fit for purpose and meets the customers' needs.

Responsibilities

What will be your responsibilities?

  • To test, maintain and review software and document software testing.
  • To design, develop and/or maintain test cases relevant to software testing and evaluation.
  • Contribute to the generation of automation tests to further improve the speed of software testing.
  • Collaborating with team members on software and technical issues.
  • To give test support to internal and external users where appropriate.
  • Work within and across teams to improve working practices and skill levels

Qualifications

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven Software testing experience including developing both manual and automation testcases.
  • Passionate about software testing which you can clearly convey by your actions and experiences.
  • Technical expertise and experience of working within a recognised quality system.
  • Demonstrable ability to address problems in an efficient manner.
  • An interest in finding out the background to how things work in detail, to understand implementations and then devising how they could be broken and what obscure things could negatively impact their functionality.
  • Superb communication, analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under own guidance.

Any of the following experience would be desirable but not crucial as we would provide support to you:

  • Testing software for analytical instrumentation.
  • Test of software for medical devices.
