Overview

The Principal Project Manager will support the Wilmslow/Longbridge Manufacturing Organization by leading the process for the execution of strategic/tactical projects along with coordination of Operational functions in support of New Product development working seamlessly with the Global Products PMO.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collaborating with R&D and business teams, and leading and coordinating cross functional Operations team members (engineering, planning, procurement, production) in all activities for planning and successful operation start-up of new MS products.
  • Directly lead a team of 3-5 professionals in development of NPI product realization plans and schedule, sourcing strategy coordination, product costing, product structure BOM and Routing set up, Engineering Change process management and product master data control.
  • Work with R&D, Business and Quality teams to enhance overall NPI (New product introduction) processes and enhance planning and stage gate mgmt. processes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and generate project plans to ensure that activities and deliverables are executed in a timely manner and to budget. Prioritize needs and effectively schedule projects and resources to support multiple projects in parallel.
  • Develop, track and maintain project timelines (integrated project timelines), project deliverables and milestones; including understanding and communicating inter-dependencies and critical path activities
  • Manage meetings and facilitate discussions using meeting management best practices to drive project strategy, scenario planning, cross-functional communication, timely and effective decision-making, and successful execution of project objectives. Develop agendas and summarize key meeting discussions and decisions that drive execution.
  • Work closely with and build strong working relationships with cross-functional team members to develop a collaborative team environment and manage timelines.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, management, or directly related equivalent experience. Higher level of education preferred along with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience:

  • Substantial proven experience in delivering complex projects involving multiple geographies and influencing decision makers across the company matrix.
  • Demonstrated expertise and success in managing projects through a Product Development Process.
  • Experience in Product lifecycle management and in-depth knowledge and discipline in the application of project management best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the needs of internal and external stakeholders and to take full ownership of meeting those needs.
  • Strong competencies in planning, project management and leadership of multiple projects, activities and resources. Technical aptitude and displayed ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies.
  • Experienced Program management competencies in managing the extended project lifecycle, driving benefit analysis, managing risk trade-offs and communicating at the Program level.
  • Experience with software project planning aids and tracking e.g. MS Project, Jira.
  • Experienced in managing Projects and Programs with Agile and Lean concepts, ideally in a regulated environment.
