As a successful System Account Manager, you will be developing new business across Waters instrumentation (Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry) and software lines in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Materials market whilst ensuring the retention and customer satisfaction of the existing accounts. The key objective being to achieve the target for the designated sales territory.

This position involves travel throughout the territory of responsibility and brings you a great degree of flexibility in how you manage your accounts and how you work in the field.

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of promoting and selling Waters' cutting edge LC and UPLC instrumentation as well as the combination with mass spectrometry equipment in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Materials to analytical groups in industry and academia.
  • Preparing business plans, territory plans, reports, tender documents and relevant product solution documents for customers
  • Planning, and executing the customer demonstrations with collaboration of the demo lab specialists
  • Drive business growth and protect installed base to achieve the Dutch Pharmaceutical and Chemical Materials sales target in close collaboration with European marketing teams.
  • Produce consistent year on year business growth.
  • Collaborating, liaising and providing guidance and support across departments to ensure customer success. You will be working closely with all other groups at Waters (e.g. Service Sales, Chemistry Operation and Informatics etc.)
  • Managing the product mix and pricing to meet desired targets
  • Proactive management of key-accounts in the specific market sectors.
  • Development of new business in emerging segments of the specific market domain.
  • Maintain the customer database, ensuring all relevant information is recorded.
  • Using and updating Salesforce on a daily basis to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Provide customers with high quality technical advice and application insights whilst maintaining focus on maximizing sales potential.
  • Deliver technical seminars and workshops to customers.

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Chemistry or a related science as a minimum
  • Experienced in solution selling
  • Highly passionate individual with charisma, perseverance and determination, plus the ability to work effectively in competitive sales situations
  • Strong technical background and experience of LC and LC/MS technology.
  • Spoken and written fluency in Dutch and English.

  • Extensive expertise in the pharmaceutical and chemical materials market, including related applications and compliance with industry regulations and legislation.
  • Results driven, self-motivating, accountable and initiative orientated personality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good team player and collaborator.
  • Prioritization, planning and organization skills.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role in LC/MS (e.g. LC/MS sales, demonstrations, business development or marketing) or sales or entrepreneurial experience is a strong advantage.
