Overview

Waters Corporation is seeking a highly talented and motivated Senior Maintenance Plumber to join the Facilities Management team. The Senior Maintenance Plumber is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance of building plumbing systems in a large office, manufacturing and laboratory facility at Waters corporate headquarters in Milford, Ma which is a 750,000 square foot building complex.

The individual should also be proficient with using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) which is used to plan and track asset maintenance to ensure reliable, efficient and sustained operations of all mechanical equipment throughout the facility. Individual should also have experience performing preventive maintenance on fixtures, install and maintain pipes and fittings including assembly, cutting, threading, and Victaulic grooving to accomplish goals. Perform plumbing, heating and pipe fitting repair and replacement including high-pressure steam systems, hot water heating systems, drainage systems, process gases, RODI, compressed air, etc.

This position is primarily located in Milford, MA and will have occasional responsibilities in Franklin, MA and Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Using the CMMS work order system, perform corrective and planned maintenance work orders throughout the campuses.
  • Assist with construction/remodel plan review of upcoming projects of the plumbing systems.
  • Works with outside vendors, engineers and consultants on projects affecting plumbing systems on buildings and incorporate their designs into SLCC's.
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
  • Maintain culinary water systems and test and repair backflow prevention devices. Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption.
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates, maintaining accurate records on material and labor used. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies including ordering replacement materials, Respond to emergency calls as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed apprenticeship program and successfully pass the Massachusetts State Journeymen's exam and have active Massachusetts Journeyman plumbing license.
  • 3-5 years of experience in plumbing field.
    • Must be able to organize and plan special projects with outside contractors.
    • Must have knowledge of operation for electric sensors on faucets, flush valves, and shower.
    • Must understand work order processing and preventative maintenance requirements.
    • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and system designs.
    • Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
    • Knowledge of plumbing codes
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material Ability to perform mathematical calculations
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
