As Informatics Professional Specialist, you are an ambassador of Waters and will bring to the market Waters' products and services. The candidate will demonstrates a clear grasp of understanding the customers' business and its growth plans and is able to take that knowledge and convert that into a solution and offering from Waters, with a primary aim of bringing "customer success". This position brings a great degree of flexibility working in the field. The role will be designated to either a territory and/or markets.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Waters networked Informatics Solutions at customer facilities to include but not limited to the following tasks:
  • Install and configure Waters Informatics Software (Empower, Nugenesis, Waters_Connect)
  • Install and configure Oracle databases
  • Execute Software Qualifications
  • Coordinate projects or assist as a member of a team tasked with defining processes and procedures required for the initial install or upgrade of Waters networked Informatics Solutions
  • Assist customers with the design of IT infrastructure required to support enterprise level implementations of Waters Informatics Solutions
  • Provide advanced level post-install technical support for customers to include but not limited to the following tasks:
  • Diagnose and resolve application anomalies caused by server and network configurations
  • Diagnose and resolve server and application performance issues
  • Provide assistance with fault tolerance and disaster recovery
  • Provide assistance with customer deployment strategies and issues
  • Train customer representatives on proper administration and onsite support of Informatics environments through verbal communications, presentations and documentation
  • Mentor Waters employees on topics related to the installation and support of Informatics Solutions
  • Coordinate between customers and Waters in-house technical staff to resolve product issues and evaluate product capabilities
  • Additional responsibilities: Perform installation, commissioning and maintenance of Waters Analytical systems including HPLC/UPLC.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Life Science discipline like Chemistry.
  • Candidates from Life Science qualification must possess external certification/experience with IT infrastructure - eg. Microsoft Server Certification, Oracle Certified engineer, Cisco Network engneer, or equivalent qualification

Experience:

  • At least 3 years' experience with the implementation or support of networked laboratory Informatics software systems
  • Previous background support IT infrastucture in Pharmaceutical industry would be a plus points
  • Understanding of the scientific application workflow along with the scientific software systems (CDS, SDMS, LIM, ELN)

Skills:

  • Recognized certifications in one or more of the following technologies - Oracle, VMware, Linux, Citrix, networking, server clustering, IT security
  • Experience acting as a laboratory assistant using Analytical Instruments and familiar with Lab-Workflows and procedures as well as using different kind of Software-Platforms (CDS, LIMS, ELN & SDMS...)
  • Experience acting as a scientific technology consultant to companies with analytical laboratories
  • Experience providing technical information and software training in written, verbal, and presentation formats

Travel:

  • The role is a Field position with requirement for traveling within Malaysia and across SEA countries. The role will be based from Selangor or Penang. Travel allowance will be provided and all business travel expenditure will be reimbursed.
