Overview

As a Sales Account Manager - Automation at Waters, your responsibilities include driving sales of the award-winning Andrew+ pipetting robot and growing awareness of the Waters Automation portfolio in your territory. You will be responsible for crafting and implementing a strategic sales plan that drives growth of our automation products and services. In addition to a consistent track record in sales, the desired candidate should be driven, dynamic, a fast learner, a passionate networker, and a solid communicator.This role will cover the Southern Europe territory (automation), including France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

Within a typical week our Account Managers will develop a pipeline, manage opportunities and provide forecasts to the management team. Regularly meeting with customers in person or virtually to explore avenues of partnering with them as well as introducing new technologies. Our Account Managers work closely with the marketing teams and our demo lab chemists.

This activity requires strong account management, customer service and rapport building skills as well as an ability to talk through a customer's system requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Visit customers to highlight Waters solutions.
  • Penetrate key accounts in target customer accounts and applications.
  • Passionately develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts.
  • Proactively run the sales funnel and improve conversion to closed orders.
  • Present and sell Andrew+ pipetting robot and associated products and solutions.
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting, and effective CRM utilization and maintenance.
  • Maintain current knowledge on vertical markets dynamics, application trends, and other critical business information.
  • Provide information to marketing team to build business development programs

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience in life science instrument / tools / capital equipment sales
  • Technical knowledge and practical solution selling experience, ideally an understanding of liquid handling and/or automation systems within the laboratory environment
  • Validated ability to prospect and negotiate to successfully close sales
  • Experience in selling into the laboratory environment
  • Solid understanding of life sciences research

  • Highly hardworking and upbeat individual
  • Successfully work in competitive sales situations
  • Customer-focused with excellent listening and discovery skills
