As an Applications Scientist you'll join a team of specialists that are committed to ensuring TA's world-renowned support for our customers who utilize our analytical instrumentation. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with multiple disciplines including; Sales, Service, Product Management, and Engineering while engaging our customers both pre- and post-sale. Whether you are running samples, teaching training courses, giving technical seminars, or doing other tasks to support our worldwide business you'll find new and exciting challenges daily.

Responsibilities
- Provide Applications support for pre and post sales activities for the Rheology product line. This includes our Discovery Hybrid Rheometer series as well as the ARES and RSA product lines along with the DMA 850 instrument.
- Conduct feasibility tests to characterize customer samples and generate reports with appropriate data analysis to support sales efforts.
- Provide post sales training and trouble-shooting.
- Teach training courses, both lecture based and hands-on at New Castle and at customer sites.
- Provide technical expertise to customers by email, phone, and in person.
- Provide technical expertise for Sales Representatives assisting in the closure of business.
- Give technical presentations.
- Guide demonstrations both in the Applications Lab and at customer sites.
- Maintain applications lab facilities.
- Participation in conferences and tradeshows.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Rheology, Chemical Engineering,Materials Science, or related field
- Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
Experience:
- Relevant industrial experience preferred.
- Has a solid understanding of rheology, mechanical testing, and instrumentation.
- The ideal candidate would also have experience with thermal techniques (DSC, TGA, TMA).
- Prior experience with TA Instruments software and instrumentation preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel by both air and ground carrier.
