Overview
The Principal Application Chemist Team Lead - Pharma is heading a team of scientists and informatics engineers responsible for providing scientific contributions which impact the pharma and biopharma research world. He/She is responsible for outcome-based research project execution by collaborating with pharmaceutical research centers and accounts. He/She contributes and impacts on business outcomes which positions Waters as the leading specialty measurement company in the pharma and biopharma market. This includes developing new science, methods and practices, as well as generation and presentation of scientific content using the Waters product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of experienced scientists
- Coordinate research proposals & routine management of collaborations with regular interaction with higher level scientists/managers and marketing
- Coaching of team members and guiding them through collaboration projects
- Planning, conducting & analyzing experiments - project execution
- Communication of scientific expertise to internal and external stakeholders
- Development of a professional service strategy and execution of the same
- Support marketing activities to promote the professional services portfolio
- Support the applications for research grants and promotion of paid services
- Work with cross functional teams to develop integrated pharma and biopharma solutions

Qualifications
- Potential candidate should have Master/PhD in biochemistry, biology, chemistry or related applied sciences
- 8-10 years experience in multi-disciplinary research in pharma or biopharma field, and/or multiple years of related industry experiences such as R&D working experience in the pharmaceutical industry with proven track record
- In depth knowledge in pharma and/or biopharma research with experience using HPLC, GC, MS, and related technology are preferred
- Experienced in planning research and development projects and execution
- Mature disposition, positive attitude, and strong sense of commitment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication & writing skills
- Data driven analytical skills are essential
- Proficiency in multiple languages is preferred
- Being a confident team player with positive attitude towards getting things done
- Meticulous attention to detail is required, particularly with regards to health, safety & hygiene
