Overview

Waters Corporation, the world's leading biotech and specialty measurement company that cares about inclusion and diversity, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Global Operations Finance team. The role supports the Finance Manager in ensuring the accuracy of reported costs and compliance with financial controls.

The Financial Analyst is responsible for participating in the accurate and timely completion of the month end accounting and reporting process. This includes accruals/prepayments, balance sheet revaluations/reconciliations, forecasting/budgeting and the monthly VAT submission. The role would suit candidates who can demonstrate a proactive, inquisitive attitude and who are either part-qualified or qualified accountants. As a constantly evolving Finance function, there will also be opportunities to be involved in projects and process improvement initiatives.

This role is based in Wilmslow, UK with a Hybrid model approach (3 days onsite per week in Wilmslow, UK)

Responsibilities

  • Participation in the completion of the month end closing process - including prepayments and accruals.
  • VAT return preparation and reconciliation.
  • Analysis of actual costs against forecast and budget.
  • Reporting for Legal Entity, Corporate & Management Teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and participation in the external audit.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree

Part-qualified or qualified in a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA).

Desired Experience:

Experience in manufacturing environments is beneficial

VAT Returns

Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills

SAP beneficial

Good written and oral communication skills are required, for example to ensure succinct report generation, effective communication with staff, peer groups, etc across the organisation.

Must be able to work independently and communicate with all levels of the organisation.

Computer literate - knowledge of Word & PowerPoint an advantage.
