Overview

There isn't a typical week for our Field Service Engineers!

Working as a team each Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing an excellent service to their allocated customers with the support from their own team, our expert center and regional sales teams! This is a great opportunity for someone naturally inquisitive and who loves problem solving. This isn't your typical Field Service Engineer role we work in lab-based environments on small instrumentation within the medical and pharmaceutical industries.

Our Field Service Engineers ensure our customers are able to continue doing their critical work which could be developing new medicinal therapies to advance human health, newborn screening or ensuring the safety of our food and drink. Our Field Service Engineers are proud of the work they do and how they are contributing to this important work!

Responsibilities

So, what do our Field Customer Support Specialists do? Below are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Performing preventative, planned maintenance and running diagnostics on our Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometer products at customer sites.
  • Testing in a QC environment
  • Undertaking planned installation work.
  • As a Field Service Engineer you will build a strong rapport with their customer base in order to provide them with suitable advice and support on Waters products and services - always looking for potential opportunities as to how Waters can further support their business operations.

When you start on the team you will be allocated a buddy and initially work alongside one of our senior engineers performing preventative maintenance whilst also receiving training tailored to your experience and background.

Some of our Field Service Engineers enjoy being in the role for many years but others have progressed into Team Leader roles and into Sales positions, the network you build across Waters globally means the opportunities are endless.

What are we looking for from you?

  • We ask that you are interested in science, technique, service and people!
  • You could have an engineering, lab, analytical or chemistry background.
  • It's important that you are flexible and enjoy variety in your role as well as being able to build a good rapport with customers
