Overview

Waters Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Next Generation Systems team. This team is responsible for the development and support of Waters core Liquid Chromatography technologies such as Pump, AutoSampler, Detector, and Column Management modules.

In this role, the Electrical Engineer will utilize their technical engineering knowledge while developing analytical instrumentation in a team oriented and collaborative environment. The Electrical Engineer will work within a team where there is an opportunity to collaborate and mentor others. They would also collaborate with Mechanical, Software, Reliability, and Product Engineering teams to develop innovative products.

  • Design groundbreaking analog and mixed signal circuits for PCB designs
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses on circuit designs
  • Verify circuits using electrical test equipment including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and emulators
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on board layouts
  • Verify the electrical design meets the design requirements
  • Interface with the Electrical Engineers in the other Agile development teams to ensure consistent design practice is maintained
  • Conduct design reviews for their project deliverables
  • Attend project meetings and present electronic design status, costing, and schedule information
  • Support design transfer to manufacturing
  • Self motivated to keep up with current electrical advances using new technologies

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
    • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (desired)
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience in the design of analog or mixed signal circuits
    • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, Mentor Graphics tool-set preferred
    • Experience with lab testing of board level electronic design, stepper, and servo motor control experience preferred
    • Basic understanding of FPGA design, VHDL and Altera knowledge preferred
    • Validated strong analytical skills
    • Ability to work in a hands-on environment
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills #LI-CB1
