Development SecOps Engineer

Overview

The DEVSECOPS Engineer is at the intersection of development, security, and operations. This role works closely with the Waters DevSecOps team ensure that Waters code and development infrastructure are free from security risks and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain security tools and practices within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with software development management and SMEs to incorporate secure coding practices.
  • Automate security processes to ensure seamless integration into the development workflow.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring rapid and effective resolution.
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats and trends, and advise on necessary updates or changes to security protocols.
  • Work with cloud-based infrastructures, ensuring they are securely configured and compliant with industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years in development security
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security configurations.
  • Experience with automation tools and code development platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Solid understanding of network security and data encryption techniques.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
