Overview

The Data Management IT Governance Lead will be responsible for overseeing and executing the Master Data Management strategy for Waters. This role requires an experienced MDM specialist with a deep understanding of both the business and technical aspects of setting up and running an MDM business transformation. This cross-functional role requires deep business coordination with Waters business units to implement and enforce a standard set of data governance and security policies. The governance lead will be responsible for implementing and managing the technical MDM solution and the associated IT processes & policies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing large scale data governance & technical MDM projects involving cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee coordination of MDM program strategy in support of core ERP transformation & business objectives and with a focus on data governance process & policy creation
  • Develop and foster relationships with key business and IT leaders, project managers, portfolio stakeholders, and external partners
  • Collaborate with business and IT program leadership to support MDM prioritization, program execution, project heath & sprint progress.
  • Provide consistent and effective portfolio dashboards, portfolio reviews, scorecards on MDM program progress
  • Collaborate with finance on spend, analysis and management of project budgets
  • Manage technical platform side and creation of IT policies and processes.

Provide leadership and management/mentorship and coaching of Waters personal on MDM concepts and governance structures

Qualifications

Education: BA or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • At least eight to ten years work experience in an enterprise environment
  • Successfully managed a large MDM implementation and setup of data governance structures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization including managing through cross-business area or business unit prioritization discussions
  • Understanding of Data Management specifically Master Data Management & data governance structures and implementation.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining enterprise governance policies and processes on the business side and strict governance on the creation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Smartsheet, and Jira

Complexity:

  • Must be able to communicate at various levels, from an executive level to a technical level
  • Must understand complex technical solutions

Personal Contacts:

  • Interacting with senior leaders of IT and supported business units
  • Working directly with 3rd party vendors on behalf of Waters
  • Managing a team supporting the planning and execution of the portfolio
  • Collaborating with business and technical users
