The Job

The Vice President of Market Intelligence and Insights is responsible for driving a data-driven, insights-led strategy that informs Warner Bros. Games' business, publishing, and product development decisions. This executive will lead cross-functional collaboration, ensuring consumer insights, market intelligence, and competitive benchmarking drive decision-making across the organization. Serving as "the voice of the consumer," the VP will work closely with Product, Studio, Franchise, Strategy and Marketing teams to shape product strategies, validate development decisions, and optimize audience engagement.

This role requires a strategic, data-savvy leader who can synthesize market trends, audience segmentation, and business analytics into actionable insights that drive growth, enhance player engagement, and improve product-market fit. The VP will also oversee research methodologies and insight-driven frameworks that ensure WB Games improves its competitiveness in an evolving gaming landscape.

The Daily

Strategic Market Intelligence & Consumer Insights

  • Lead the development of a centralized market intelligence function, ensuring data-driven insights inform publishing, franchise, and product strategy.
  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments, including industry trends, competitive benchmarking, and emerging player behaviors.
  • Oversee audience segmentation, market sizing, and player profiling to refine product positioning and audience targeting.
  • Drive qualitative and quantitative consumer research methodologies to deepen player understanding and engagement.

Product Validation & Business Impact

  • Lead product validation efforts throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with player expectations and competitive market positioning.
  • Partner with Product, Studio and Brand Management teams to integrate insights into game features, business models, and monetization strategies.
  • Validate feature sets, engagement models, and in-game experiences against player feedback, competitive benchmarks, and long-term retention goals.

Data-Driven Decision Making & Performance Measurement

  • Establish and manage key success metrics to evaluate product performance, brand equity, and player engagement.
  • Collaborate with analytics and data science teams to leverage AI, predictive modeling, and machine learning for deeper market insights.
  • Provide ongoing reporting and analysis to executive leadership, ensuring insights are actioned for optimization and strategic pivots.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Organizational Influence

  • Foster a culture of insights-driven decision-making across Warner Bros. Games, embedding market intelligence into all stages of product and publishing strategy.
  • Align and partner with senior executives across Product Development, Franchise Planning, Sales Planning and Marketing to integrate intelligence throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Build and manage external partnerships with research firms, industry analysts, and data providers to ensure best-in-class methodologies and insights.

Innovation in Research & Insights

  • Advance intelligence-gathering methodologies and behavioral analytics to track consumer shifts.
  • Oversee the development of real-time intelligence tools that enhance decision-making for publishing and development teams.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities for innovation, including emerging platforms, new gaming behaviors, and evolving monetization strategies.

The Essentials

  • 15+ years of experience in market intelligence, consumer insights, publishing analytics, or a related field, with 7+ years in executive leadership roles.
  • Deep experience in product validation, player insights, and feature testing within gaming, entertainment, or interactive media industries.
  • Proven ability to partner with Product Development and Publishing to influence product strategy, game positioning, engagement, and monetization strategies.
  • Strong track record in qualitative and quantitative consumer research, leading large-scale audience segmentation, market sizing, and predictive analytics.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize data and translate insights into strategic recommendations that identify growth opportunities, drive revenue and player engagement.
  • Experience working with cross functional team to leverage AI, data analytics, and machine learning to predict consumer trends and optimize business decisions.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to present complex data narratives to senior stakeholders.

  • Advanced degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $188,545.00 - $350,155.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
