This position is responsible for supervising a high-performing team tasked with reviewing, editing, and completing timed text materials for Warner Bros. Discovery's various groups. These include linear networks (Discovery, HGTV, The Food Network), digital/OTT partners (Max, Discovery+, iTunes, Amazon), and internal departments such as Localization, Mastering, and Servicing. The team handles episodic and short-form content, along with marketing materials, ensuring final accessibility deliverables meet client and regulatory standards. The role also involves adapting to the fast-changing industry by embracing new technologies and workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision (60%): Oversee daily team operations, allocate tasks, implement KPIs, provide training, and offer feedback to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Editorial and Finishing (20%): Review, edit, and finalize English timed text files, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client/regulatory requirements. Handle sensitive materials securely.
- Administrative (10%): Participate in meetings and manage urgent communications when necessary.
- Innovation & Development (10%): Contribute to workflow improvements, new business models, and personal skill development.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 6 years in timed text, transcription, or related fields, with 1+ year in a supervisory role. Knowledge of timed text software and production workflows is essential.
- Skills: Strong editing, proofreading, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in English grammar, cultural references, and project management tools is required.
- Education: College education preferred, especially in language studies, film, TV, or communications. Familiarity with accessibility standards is advantageous.
The role requires forward-thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a dynamic environment.
