Your New Role:
The newly formed Data Governance team within Enterprise Data Blueprint (EDB) is an exciting group created to transform us into a data-driven enterprise. We use data to drive business strategy, innovation, and improvements to solve business problems.
The Data Governance Sr. Analyst will work under the direction of both the Sr. Manager, Data Governance, and the Data Governance Specialist. The analyst will have visibility of the reporting within each Data Domain, and the aggregation of the reporting as it is passed up from the Data Domain Councils, and the Data Governance Board.
Contribute to the successful implementation and application of the organization's Data Governance Framework and Implementation Roadmap, including:
- Working with the Sr. Manager, Data Governance to identify and create training materials for the Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Custodians across the organization, including the creation of training material.
- Responsibility for cataloging critical data elements, business glossaries, and facilitating the development of the organization's Data Standard.
- In conjunction with the Data Governance Office (DGO), Data Owners, and Data Stewards , the Data Governance Sr. Analyst will develop the Catalog by identifying critical data issues to be actioned.
- Help establish and enrich the DGO portal for communications and supporting documentation to the Data Domains, their councils, and to Data Users.
- Maintenance and enrichment of the Data Governance Confluence space with analysis, gathered requirements, and internal documentation.
- Facilitation of all scrum ceremonies, artifacts, and Jira board maintenance.
- Generating needed reports for program metrics, data catalog, application catalog, and other areas.
Running the Monthly Data Governance cycle
- Supporting the Data Governance Specialist in the creation of any material and distribution of minutes for the Working Groups.
- Assisting in the preparation and distribution of the reporting pack for the Data Domain Councils, and the Data Governance Board - scheduled and ad hoc.
Ongoing data monitoring and maintenance
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Data Governance artifacts - decks, tickets, documents.
Responding to data issues
- Updating the Issue Catalog and tickets to capture data issues and progress.
Qualifications & Experiences:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Experience in an agile environment with understanding of the SDLC
- Ability to pivot based on priority
- Four (4)+ years of data management experience
- Experience in data quality management
- Deep understanding of information and process integration-management
- Experience with data catalogs and/or inventories
- Experience with applications portfolio management
- Experience in the maintenance of Confluence spaces and Jira boards, or other BPM software stacks
- Policy and standards drafting experience
- Understanding of Data Classifications
- Ability to implement change by mentoring and motivating others, driving consensus, and executing through others.
- Strong organizational skills: managing several complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Hands-on experience in data catalog technologies is a plus
