Meet Our Team:
The Data & Analytics organization is at the forefront of developing and maintaining frameworks, tools, and data products vital to WBD, including flagship streaming product Max and non streaming products such as Films Group, Sports, News and overall WBD ecosystem. Our mission is to foster unified analytics and drive data driven use cases by leveraging a robust multitenant platform and semantic layer. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that empower teams across the company to catalyze subscriber growth, amplify engagement, and execute timely, informed decisions, ensuring our continued success in an ever-evolving digital landscape. This team will support studios, sports, news and corporate as well.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Build application service layers and UIs to support Warner Bros Discovery's content supply chain
- Design and develop services within the supply chain.
- Build architectural diagrams that communicate what we need to build and how we need to build it and document what you build.
- Describe and defend your design and code decisions to other engineers, embrace constructive feedback, and adapt your approach to align with team and company standards and objectives.
- Offer enhancements to best practices, document, design, and architecture improvements, and as feedback through code reviews to other engineers without continuous prompting or recurring encouragement. Other engineers appreciate your feedback.
- Troubleshoot production issues by reviewing source code, logs, operational metrics, stack trace etc. to pinpoint a specific problem and then resolve it.
- A willingness and ability to communicate with others on the team, participating in discussions with the team and with business stakeholders.
- The ability to solve business problems with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices.
- The ability to deliver high-quality results the first time and improve code, documentation, and results with each iteration. Your team trusts your work.
What to Bring:
- 3-5 years of experience as a software developer working on both back-end services and UIs
- Experience with event driven architecture or asynchronous messaging services
- Experience developing Single Page Applications with a modern UI framework (React/NextJS)
- High proficiency and technical leadership with technologies on our stack including Python/Java, OpenSearch.
- Expertise in Python or Java with and the ability to write performant production-quality code
- Expertise with SQL, Spark, Kafka, Big Data platforms and cloud data environments (e.g. AWS, Databricks)
- Strong knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Expertise with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar) to automate building, testing and deployment of the ML platform and to manage the infrastructure (Pulumi, Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Experience with Generative AI models, processes, tools and frameworks
- Experience with VectorDB, e.g,. OpenSearch, Pincecone
- Experience working within a SAFe Agile team, collaborating with others to build software and iteratively improving it.
