General Summary:

The Senior Manager for affiliate sales will be responsible for developing the WBD streaming service, Max, and linear & digital distribution strategy in Taiwan to maximize the revenue and drive subscriber growth through effective packaging and bundling promotions with partners. This role will work across Warner Bros Discovery's portfolio of channels and services, including CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Warner TV, HBO, HBO Family, HBO Hits, HBO Signature, Cinemax, Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Asia, DMAX, EVE, Discovery Science, HGTV, AFN, Food Network, Travel Channel, Eurosport, Max, and any streaming services or content available in the market.

The individual will be tasked with leading the key distribution relationships, negotiations with pay TV operators, telcos, and broadband providers in Taiwan, and evaluating the impact of new technologies and distribution partners. The position will also assist corporate management in all administrative functions including budget and facilities planning, team development, and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Affiliate Sales in Taiwan to develop negotiation strategies and develop best practices for key deals.
  • Identify, evaluate new sales, and negotiate agreements with pay TV operators, telcos, broadband providers, and, where applicable. Satellite Master TV (SMATV) and Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT), Direct To Home (DTH) operators and OTT (VOD/SVOD) platforms.
  • Manage all aspects of distribution revenue development and growth for the businesses, and evaluate the impact of new products, technologies, and distribution partners on existing businesses, develop new product licensing strategies to address significant changes in consumer behavior and TV consumption.
  • Manage the key distribution relationships and oversee the after-sales support for linear and non-linear customers, spearhead and liaise with marketing to develop affiliate marketing programs
  • Be accountable for achieving year-end sales goals, provide timely forecasts, reports, and competitive information, and monitor account receivables regularly.
  • Liaising and working closely with other teams/functions in the business including Max team, programming, marketing, and finance.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English speaking, proposal writing, and business presentation.
  • Streaming media, Cable, or Satellite industry experience with knowledge of content distribution and acquisition is preferred.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, presentation and communication skills in written and verbal.
  • Strategic and analytical capability.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with positive attitude.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • University degree or above, major in mass communication, business management, or other related fields.
