Position Summary:
Working within Creative Services CoE (GCO), Budapest Post Production hub, the GFX Editor is primarily responsible for motion graphics creation and GFX customisation for marketing campaign content across 20+ languages, covering MAX & HBO Max streaming, all online and social communication platforms, Owned and Operated linear channels including HBO and Cinemax.
From a supervisory perspective, this role requires organizational, people management and training skills. The hands-on graphics customisation and packaging work requires advanced motion graphics skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere. Solid understanding and experience of broadcast and technical Post Production workflows are an essential requirement.
The Motion Graphics Supervisor will support the AV Versioning Lead in providing high levels of customer services to the EMEA region streaming platforms and other internal clients and stakeholders. The Motion Graphics Supervisor will be required to highlight any known issues in the Motion GFX editor team or workflow to the AV Versioning Lead and provide regular updates on the status of the work that is being undertaken by their team. The Motion Graphics Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Post Resource Supervisor to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the Motion GFX team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory:
- Day-to-day supervision of the Motion GFX team.
- Ensure standards of performance and quality of work are being adhered to across the GFX team.
- Provide administrative supervision for the Motion GFX team, including setting Goals, ensuring holiday and absence cover is in place and that workloads are being monitored, etc.
- Ensure company and departmental operational and P&C procedures are being followed by the Motion GFX team.
- Monitor performance across the Motion GFX team, including identifying areas of training or mentoring that may be required. Work with the AV Versioning Lead and Post Resource Supervisor, Post Engineering team (as req.d) to address any technical issues.
- Work with the AV Versioning Lead to identify areas where workflows can be improved and/or made more efficient.
- Escalate issues within the Motion GFX team or workflow to the AV Versioning Lead as required.
- Provide regular updates on the status of the Motion GFX teams' work to the AV Versioning Lead, Post Resource Supervisor and any other relevant Post Production personnel as req'd.
Requirements:
- Impeccable organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify problems and prioritise solutions.
- Decision-making skills.
- Experience of training new and junior members of a team
- Advanced knowledge and ability to perform graphics work using After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator (and other Adobe Creative suite software), Cinema 4D is essential.
- Ability to create motion graphic sequences from scratch and also utilize existing After Effects templates and adapt them as necessary.
- Strong design skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Able to Offline and Online content for broadcast using Adobe Premiere and/or Avid Media Composer.
- Experience of Avid Media Composer is desirable
- Understanding of the AVID Interplay / Nexis server is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of file-based workflows and broadcast technology
- Excellent operational knowledge of graphics workflows and editing within a broadcaster or agency environment
- Excellent understanding of video, colour and audio theory
- Ability to detect and identify standard video and audio faults.
- Ability to diagnose and repair erroneous content.
- Good understanding of compliance regulatory codes of practice across EMEA.
- Excellent attention to detail in all communication, documentation and metadata.
- Clear, concise naming, filing and organizational skills for asset management
