SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting into the Director, WBD Studios FP&A - APAC, this role will support Warner Bros. Discovery Global Franchises, Products, & Experiences with business planning and insights, strategic decision support, deal analysis, financial modeling, revenue and expense forecasting, and preparation of executive presentations.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides business leaders with data and insights to drive decision-making and enhance understanding of the drivers of profitability and revenue growth.
- Own all forecast, budget, and long-range plan projections for various business units within the Global Franchises, Products, & Experiences portfolio. Collaborate with business leads to develop, review, and validate revenue and expense estimates.
- Identify and assess business risks and opportunities, helping to craft risk mitigation strategies and driving actualization of new opportunities.
- Manage preparation of the quarterly business review and other executive presentations, summarizing and interpreting market trends, financial data, KPIs, and other insights necessary to drive effective management of the P&L.
- Support development and implementation of new reporting and technology solutions to drive efficiency and increased understanding of key performance indicators.
- Support the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accurate accruals and providing regular pacing updates to senior management and corporate.
- Works closely with other functional areas to (e.g. Planning COE, Global Business Services, Legal) to streamline processes and troubleshoot issues impacting financial reporting and planning.
- Participates in divisional and company-wide professional development efforts and supports development of more junior staff across the WBD organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-10 years in FP&A, corporate development, strategic planning, or management consulting
- Previous experience with media, entertainment, retail, or consumer products industries preferred
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or similar field required
- MBA/CPA preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint required
- Superior communication and presentation skills; must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons at all levels
- High level of intellectual curiosity that sparks communication, collaboration, and innovation; must have a willingness to look beyond surface requirements.
- Ability to adapt and be agile amongst a changing environment and to translate complex problems into solutions
- Willingness to collaborate with management and peers to advance team and company goals
- High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to flourish under pressure
- Detail-oriented, but also able to summarize complex ideas succinctly and develop compelling narratives
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to expand knowledge relating to industry drivers and trends.
- Familiarity with the Japanese language is advantageous but not mandatory for interactions with Japanese-speaking partners.
