The Job

Working in the Content Distribution Engineering (CDE) team, the Manager, Technical Program Manager role acts as the interface between business, product, and engineering, overseeing technical relationships with WBD's internal and external content ingest partners for SVOD, AVOD, TVOD, FAST Channels and other associated content distributions.

You will lead a team of TPMs managing the onboarding of new content ingest partners to the WBD global supply chain. The team will provide the business-critical interface between distribution partners and our internal engineering, operations, and product teams. You will define the strategy that the team work to as they are onboarding new industry partners into the WBD Media Supply Chain ecosystem.

This role requires close collaboration with teams and partners distributed across the globe so being an excellent communicator with the ability to influence key decisions in meetings, documentation and all the communication mediums is vital to your success in this role

The Essentials

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a TPM, or comparable engineering role


  • Considerable experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary integrations involving multiple internal and external teams.


  • Exceptional customer relationship and account management skills, including the ability to influence key technology decisions and robustly defend WBD's interests.


  • Champion of Agile methodologies, using metrics to drive productivity.


  • Comprehensive understanding of the current global VOD ecosystem, industry standards and best practice, including :


  • Movielabs Digital Distribution Framework


  • Cablelabs VOD Content Specification


  • Video codecs, wrappers and profiles


  • Audio codecs, wrappers and profiles


  • Common Subtitle and Caption formats e.g. SCC, WebVTT and IMSC-Rosetta


  • Content delivery methods inc AWS S3 push, Aspera Cloud and SFTP


  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across time zones and with international teams from a variety of countries and backgrounds.


  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.


  • Proven communication skills showcased through effective verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.

The Daily

  • In this role, you will take the lead in defining the strategy for integrations with key distribution partners, consulting with leadership where necessary


  • You will lead and mentor the TPMs in your organization to deliver the integrations needed to support WBD's business aims


  • You are the escalation point for business and technical stakeholders for all matters relating to the full portfolio of partners your team has responsibility for.


  • You will work with internal legal, sales, and business development teams in support of securing new distribution deals, ensuring that WBD's technology vision is a key part of those discussions


  • You will define policies and processes related to partner onboardings and integrations, supplying a robust framework for the team to operate within.


  • You will collaborate with our internal and external partners to ensure that our technical integrations preserve the best possible quality of content and quality of experience to the users of their platforms and services


  • You will work with our distribution partners to ensure that WBD's interests are suitably prioritized on their development roadmap.


  • You will collaborate with internal product and engineering leads to define the strategic direction for WBD's non-linear supply chains to meet the future needs of the business


  • You act autonomously as a representative for the MSC organization. Your judgment is trusted, and your decisions are proven correct most of the time


  • Your written and verbal communication skills are exemplary, concise, and to the point.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $145,600.00 - $270,400.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
