Meet Our Team:

The Content Systems Engineering team builds the applications and services that power Warner Bros Discovery's content supply chain. Our applications cover the entire breadth of the media supply chain, from idea to distribution. We have a robust global community of thousands of internal Warner Bros Discovery users who rely on our apps every day to get television produced, on the air, and onto Discovery+.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Manager of Software Engineering - this individual will champion overall data analytics, reporting and data services strategy across for various streaming and non-streaming data domains including but not limited to commerce, product, content analytics. This individual will lead a team of data and analytics engineers and help Max, Discovery+ and other content production studios within WBD more data driven. This individual will bring in his/her expertise in a wide variety of data processing frameworks (both open source and proprietary), large scale database systems (OLAP and OLTP), stream data processing data mart development, BI/Analytics, API Development, to improve data architecture and data product development efficiency.

  • Help hire Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts & Data Scientists to build and maintain the Analytics Product.
  • Work closely with business to support analytics needs - including BI & AI driven analytics.
  • Design scalable data, reporting and observability products and evangelize them.
  • Lead and mentor one or more Data and Analytics engineering team(s), make them productive, keep them stay focused and motivated in an intense and demanding environment.
  • Work closely with higher management, various stakeholders to understand data platform requirements, create roadmap, keep track of the key milestones.
  • Work closely with your team to architect and implement various data products which include data marts, data semantic layer, analytics, and third-party system integrations.
  • Work closely with various business to roll out data product initiatives.
  • Present data architecture, roadmap, plans, status, and risk to various stakeholders including higher management.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and formal analysis in support of executive decision making and strategy development.
  • Help with resource planning and budget to maintain the platform.
  • Be responsible for infrastructure cost and improving efficiency.

What to Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or Similar discipline.
  • 14+ years of experience in Data & Analytics
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering management, managing a team of 15+
  • Prior experience and deep domain knowledge in Direct-to-Consumer Business based products is recommended.
  • Go above and beyond attitude - ready to roll up sleeves to meet business expectations.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure, agile environment.
  • Ability to lead one or more teams to deliver high quality data products.
  • Expertise in at least few programming languages - Java, Scala, Python or similar.
  • Expertise in building and managing large volume data processing (both streaming and batch) platform is a must - Apache Spark or similar
  • Expertise in OLAP databases such as Snowflake or Redshift.
  • Experience with Analytics Tools such as Looker, Tableau or similar.
  • Experience in AI driven data analytics is a huge plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong team focus with outstanding organizational and resource management skills.
