Your New Role...

Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual in the themed entertainment or retail industry to help drive growth and profitability of our themed retail business worldwide. Strategies and objectives will include plans for innovative retail/merchandise footprint for all WBTE licensees (theme parks, location-based entertainment, exhibits, live, events, etc) with tangible business impacts. This includes multiple high-profile licensees around the world and responsibilities across all IP and themed entertainment categories. The Manager should be a high-capacity individual able to balance the business objectives of the company with the creative development of world class projects all while working with some of the world's best known and most beloved characters from the worlds of DC, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera and many more. Act as a Brand Ambassador, Change Agent, and Influencer leveraging our Global Themed Entertainment licensees and Warner Bros Discovery ethos.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Works with and reports into Director to develop realistic business plans across our wide licensee portfolio. Must use research, data, trends and proven industry knowledge to engage in communication, evangelization and execution of global WBTE retail/merchandise strategies.
  • Spearheads select WBTE retail relationships with selected partners understanding the ability to action and motivate against WBD's objectives. This includes day to day communications, ongoing merchandise planning, design and development of new shops and other retail outlets. Coordinates with licensees to understand their strategies and goals.
  • Develops an understanding of WBD Brand focus and aesthetics, industry best practices and how this translates into regional retail markets.
  • Monitors industry trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge and identifies emerging opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of Branded Retail processes (Licensees, Product Development, Buying, Planning, Allocating, Regions), Manufacturing basics (lead times, product development) & Licensing models (DTR, DTC, O&O).
  • Analyzes retail pos data, identifies gaps and opportunities to drive to retail. Identifies white space opportunities.
  • Acts as a decision maker with guidance from the Director.
  • Explores vendors and licensee capabilities to innovate and expand retail performance.
  • Promotes constant brand/trend/industry knowledge and positioning to ensure our brands are top priority in ongoing plans with each licensee. Provides partners with relevant information about creative, product development, content, and marketing/franchise updates.
  • Works with Product Development, Finance, Legal, Franchise Marketing, PR, Brand Assurance, other stakeholder teams and 3rd party vendors as needed
  • Works closely with Director on projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience...

Work Experience

8+ years of retail in themed entertainment or related experience

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Other Requirements

  • Experience and/or clear understanding of experiential, theme park, location-based entertainment, themed entertainment retail industry or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge of global retail industry (themed and non-themed), retail landscape, licensed merchandise, solution selling, marketing principals
  • Strong solution mindset: relationship building, presentations, influencing skills
  • Takes accountability for responsibilities and executes with little day to day supervision
  • Experience in retail industry brand management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Must be proactive, determine needs and solve problems as a self-starter
  • Ability to manage and foster relationships both internally and externally
  • Must have effective and proven attention to detail skills to manage the many facets of a project
  • Knowledge of the WB Library - DC, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera and other Warner Media properties
  • Knowledgeable in Mac & Microsoft based programs (Box, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Some travel required (Domestic & International)

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $83,090.00 - $154,310.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
