The Role:
This role will work with the entire ANZ Programming teams to execute the content strategy, with a specific focus on the management of the Pay TV team delivering output currently across Foxtel, Fetch, Sky NZ and our MAX team ensuring we are creating maximum reach and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the Pay TV Content team to plan the Pay portfolio of channels, with a focus on executing commercially successful schedules and recommending plans that deliver to the content strategy and ratings and share targets.
- Content lead for our Pay TV Channels, owning the relationship with the US Programming team.
- Execute and oversee the content vision across Pay TV channels by developing commercially friendly schedules that deliver to rating and share targets whilst monitoring channel health.
- Work closely with the MAX team to ensure our contractual obligations are being adhered to.
- Work with the wider WBD ANZ Programming teams to ensure we are appropriately sharing and maximising our Discovery catalogue across all channels and platforms.
- Provide guidance to the marketing, media planning and creative teams to facilitate the best possible outcome from their activity in relation to our Pay channels.
- Evaluate new and existing programming to assess suitability for our Pay Channels and platforms (eg VOD).
- Work with Broadcast Standards to review and assess acquired and internal content for compliance to adhere to internal and external (i.e. regulatory) standards.
- Where necessary collaborate and support any wider ANZ Content team initiatives.
- Ad hoc project work and duties as required.
Qualities & Experience:
- Management experience (preferred but not essential)
- Dynamic personality, adaptable, a high degree of professionalism
- A collaborator, who enjoys working in a team and has the confidence to work with international colleagues across different markets and time-zones
- Independent thinker with a strategic mindset. Able to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation skills, able readily and easily to address a diverse range of audiences including internal colleagues and external partners.
- Minimum 6 years television experience in programming, evaluating, acquiring and scheduling programming.
- Exceptional knowledge of programming, audience and revenue drivers across multiple genres in the ANZ market
- Understanding and experience in delivering content propositions to multiple audience segments across content platforms - ability to understand user behaviours and how best to serve viewers no matter where and how they watch.
