Your new role...

We are looking for an Investigator to join our Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) team based out of the UK. You will be required to conduct investigations and report on findings in English language. Candidates able to work in another European language are highly desirable (with preference given to Polish language).

People Relations is a Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Centre of Expertise comprised of a team of seasoned workplace investigators. From our bases in the US, UK and South America, our primary function is to conduct objective, balanced, and thorough workplace investigations across the global WBD group into claims of harassment, discrimination, bullying, retaliation and other serious policy violations.

Reporting to the Senior Director, People Relations, EMEA, the Investigator will be a key point of contact for our People and Culture Partners and staff based in the EMEA region.

You will personally conduct workplace investigations across all business units, including local productions and, as such, your work will bring you into contact with anyone from WBD staff and production crew to members of the public. You may also be required to conduct investigations outside of the EMEA region as required from time to time.

In addition to the investigation of concerns, the expectation is for you to forge trusted relationships with internal global stakeholders (including local People & Culture partners, Security, Ethics and Compliance, and in-house legal counsel) in relation to the management of concerns involving harassment, discrimination, bullying and retaliation and/or other complex employment issues, in accordance with People Relations' values and initiatives.

You will identify trends related to claims and make recommendations to address issues identified including partnering with the WBD Diversity Equity and Inclusion team and recommending training opportunities, culture enhancements, or changes to workplace policies or protocols.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate an ability to investigate and write reports in English language. Familiarity with relevant EMEA region codes, protocols and local rules around workplace investigations (including, for example, the UK ACAS Guide to Conducting Workplace Investigations) is also desirable.

The role is remote with travel, as required, to our various office locations. Flexible availability is required as Global colleagues and partners will be located in various countries and time zones.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Manage and directly conduct investigations in EMEA adhering to the People Relations investigation process and principles - striving for consistency across Business Units, productions and territories
  • Adopt People Relations' standards of integrity, objectivity, thoroughness, and of treating investigation participants with dignity and respect.
  • Advocate for consistency in investigatory processes, resolution, discipline, and department philosophies across the region
  • Be able to take an accurate meeting note of your investigation meetings (where required) and draft documents such as investigation reports (in accordance with local requirements), summaries, conclusion talking points, closing memos, investigation update emails, and other investigation-related documents
  • Be able to digest large amounts of data and debrief on summary findings and/or recommendations
  • Enter cases into the case management system on a timely basis and comply with related requests from People Relations Strategy and Operations colleagues.
  • Liaise with local stakeholders on the sourcing, creation and/or coordination of training sessions. On occasion may be asked to facilitate ad hoc training sessions.
  • Represent People Relations on the Threat Management Unit
  • Stay current on changes to local laws and ordinances, local and EMEA employment law and best practices across the various countries in which you investigate.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in verbal and written English. Fluency in another relevant European language highly desirable (with preference given to Polish language)
  • Demonstrated hands-on workplace investigations experience in a confidential/sensitive setting, ideally in Equal Employment Opportunity Policy-type cases (i.e. Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation).
  • Demonstrated progressive Human Resources management or employment law experience
  • Must have operative knowledge of laws governing workplace investigations and discrimination law in at least one relevant EMEA territory.
  • Must be able to demonstrate operative knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures
  • Must be able to handle multiple investigations and projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to handle investigations with complete discretion, sensitivity, objectivity, and consistency
  • Must be able to exercise keen judgment when analyzing and resolving employment issues
  • Must have excellent follow-through and a strong sense of urgency
  • Must be able to research and analyze data and findings
  • Must have ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel including attorneys and business unit executives
  • Must be able to utilize diplomacy, assertiveness, and adaptability in working with senior executives throughout the organization

How We Get Things Done...
