Your New Role

To provide expertise and prioritize work of a team of full-time HVAC technicians safely and efficiently installing new and repairing existing equipment and systems. Identify and schedule the maintenance and repair of all mechanical systems and components to include chillers, pumps, DX systems, air distribution systems consisting of AHU's and a variety of powered and non-powered terminal units, exhaust fans, pumps, cooling towers, low pressure boilers, fire safety and associated equipment. Contribute guidance and apply best practices to ensure proper operations, performance, efficiency and reliability of mechanical systems.

This position supports 24/7 365 days annual uptime in critical spaces including Data Center and associated television production areas. Administrative duties such as inventory, proper accounting of reactive and preventative CMMS work orders and written updates of equipment status are required. Supports other trades / performs other duties as required or assigned by the manager.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Lead a team of HVAC technicians, provide guidance, and delegate daily tasks.
  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of commercial comfort and critical cooling systems. Perform diagnostic testing. Work with other managers and Lead personnel to prioritize work efforts.
  • Partner with HVAC Manager to make recommendations including new employee and development training, equipment specific training and end of life capital expenditures. Advise management on all aspects of staff performance.
  • Support cross training efforts with other departments to ensure all personnel are familiar with and support other trades. Train staff on emergency procedures and familiarize them with off-site locations and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Vendors to perform construction and new equipment installations safely and in a manner that will not impact production. Review and participate in written procedures designed to accomplish work while minimizing risk to property and personnel.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 YEARS IN A COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL CHILLER PLANT SETTING OR 10 YEARS IN COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING. CRITICAL COOLING EXPERIENCE A PLUS
  • EPA UNIVERSAL OR TYPE I AND TYPE II CERTIFICATION
  • HYDRONICS, THERMODYNAMICS, HEAT TRANSFER, PRESSURE TEMPERATURE RELATIONSHIP, FUNDAMENTALS OF ELECTRICITY AND CONTROLS, TROUBLESHOOTING, CHILLERS, CHILLED WATER LOOPS, CONDENSER WATER LOOPS AND COOLING TOWERS PLUS ALL ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT OPERATION.
  • MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND AVAILABLE. MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. MUST BE A SELF STARTER AND POSESS VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
