About the role:

本ポジションはWarner Bros. Discovery Japanのアニメ部門の責任者として、ビジネス戦略、IPの取得、コンテンツ開発、製作、販売およびマーケティングに加え、P/L管理、チームマネジメント等日本におけるアニメビジネスすべてを統括していただきます。

日本だけではなく、APACおよびグローバルの他のビジネスユニットと密接に協力して、ビジネス成長の機会を最大化し、WBDのIPの潜在力を活用し、日本で行う予定のストリーミングサービスのローンチの成功を確実にするために、コンテンツパイプラインを強化していただきます。

Key responsibilities:

  • WBDアニメビジネスの事業戦略を立案し、チームと共に推進していく
  • 事業戦略に沿って、製作及びセールス及びマーケティング活動を実施し、計画された予算を達成する
  • コンテンツ保有者、出版社、スタジオなど、アニメ業界の主要関係者と良好な関係とパートナーシップを築く
  • 社内外のステークホルダーと密接に協力をしてビジネスを推進する
  • コンテンツの企画立案及び社内の製作許可を受けた上で、製作委員会の創設、資金調達を行う
  • 製作および配信スケジュールの締め切りを厳守できるように、チームメンバー及び業務の管理を行う

資格と経験:

必須経験

  • アニメ業界における豊富なリーダーシップの経験を持ち、アニメビジネスに精通をしている
  • 品質の管理・維持の為にアニメ制作のプロセスを理解している
  • マーケティング計画の策定及び実施、効果測定を行ったことがある方
  • アニメ市場のトレンドを理解し、国内だけでなくグローバルの動向にも精通をしている方
  • 日本語とビジネスレベルの英語コミュニケーションスキル

About the role:

The Head of Anime Production will be responsible for the full scope of the Animation Business including the business strategy, IP sourcing, content development, production, and sales & marketing, with profit and loss and team management responsibilities.

The position closely collaborates with other business units at WBD Japan, APAC and Global to maximize business growth opportunities; leverage WBD IP potentials; and to strengthen content pipeline to ensure the success of MAX streaming service launch in Japan.

Key responsibilities:

  • To create a vision and inspire the team for the future success of the Anime business at WBD
  • To develop Anime business growth strategies with concrete production and sales & marketing plans with specific revenue and profits numbers
  • To build and maintain good relationships and partnerships with key players in the Anime industry, such as content holders, comic publishers, and animation studios
  • To collaborate with both external and internal stakeholders and to obtain their support with commitment
  • To create Anime content production plan by title for its greenlight process and influence concerned parties to support the project and to obtain the funding, and set up production consortium
  • To make strategic sales & marketing plans domestically and internationally to ensure the revenue to achieve the budgeted profits
  • To manage the team and operations as well as to take necessary action for problem solving for unforeseen issues to keep the production and distribution schedule and deadline
  • To achieve the approved revenues and profits by controlling expenditure

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Skills

  • We require a seasoned Anime leader, with significant experience in people & team management and extensive experience in the Anime industry
  • Good understanding of the anime production process in an animation studio for quality control
  • Experience in implementing marketing plans and measuring effectiveness
  • Understanding of Anime market trends and experience in working within international business settings and organizations
  • Both Japanese and business-level English communication skills

Education

BA/BS degree or equivalent required
