Film & TV Creative Development Internships: LA - Summer 2025

Your New Role

We have multiple Film & TV Creative Development internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for all internship opportunities within this area. These internships will be located in the LA area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule.

This could include, but is not limited to:

  • New Line Cinema Creative Development & Production Intern
  • Alloy Entertainment TV/Film Development Intern
  • WB Pictures Creative Development Intern
  • WBTV Creative Affairs Intern

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Read, evaluate, and write script coverage and book coverage on a wide range of incoming material for potential projects
  • Gain exposure to various creative materials though the film development and production process including watching dailies and/or Studio rough cuts of our projects when possible as well as films from up-and-coming filmmakers
  • Create and maintain lists of all available actors, writers, and directors for current and future projects
  • Assist with project-related research
  • Track competitive projects
  • Identify and research a potential film idea and prepare a mock pitch movie to be presented to senior executives at the end of the internship
  • Assist with the editing and creation of internal documents ad hoc including compiling a weekly newsletter of industry-relevant news, trends, and film/tv trailers, and distribute it to executives and other department members
  • Collate and evaluate research material
  • Shadow development assistants and learn the essentials of being an entertainment assistant including rolling calls, scheduling, and any relative administrative work with potential to cover executive desks/phones as needed
  • Attend weekly department staff meetings and a weekly speaker series featuring executives from other departments within the Motion Pictures group
  • Take network notes in meetings
  • Listen in on calls, pitches, and staff meetings
  • Other related duties or projects as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Script coverage and/or Book coverage experience
  • Passion for film, television and the industry as a whole with a strong interest in a career as a studio executive or film producer
  • Strong understanding of and interest in current film and television landscapes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, effective with time management and a team player
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, Google Docs, Adobe PDFs, and MacOS
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn quickly
  • Familiarity with desk phones and industry players
  • Ability to take initiative and anticipate needs
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate Student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internships in the entertainment industry strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the film production process

What to know before applying:

  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.


  • Program date options:


  • Option 1: June 2nd - August 15th


  • Option 2: June 9th - August 22nd


  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.


  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.


  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
