Your new role
The Director/Technical Operator team is a very computer savvy, multi-tasking, detail-oriented group of individuals that must master multiple production disciplines to get the daily job done.
In the control room, the tech team will multi-task and rotate between TD/Director, Audio, Graphics and Robo Camera to produce live and recorded content for TV and Digital platforms.
Your role accountabilities
- Directing, mixing audio as well as operating graphics, studio set up and cameras for all live and pre-produced programming;
- Collaborating with Editorial show teams and Engineering across CNN bureaus in an ever-changing, time-sensitive environment;
- Prepping & executing PCR and Studio & Controlling video, audio, graphics, cameras, lighting, control room routing, processing technical rundowns for live and taped productions;
- Inform and advise the technical & editorial crew of show needs (animations, music, graphics, props, set furnishings);
- Skillful troubleshooting of gear to assist engineers in quickly fixing the equipment;
- Participate in goal setting and annual performance evaluations of technical, engineering & editorial staff.
Qualities & Experiences
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in TV production/communication
- Fluency in English
- Industry experience directing in a live news environment
- Operational knowledge of all control room & studio positions
- Modern knowledge of control room computer systems
Nice to Have
You'll work in a software based production facility control room in a fast-paced live news environment. Experience with the following equipment or systems is preferred:
- Dreamcatcher Bravo by Evertz
- VIZ Mosart or other automation system like ROSS - OVERDRIVE, GRASSVALLEY - IGNITE SONY - ELC.
- iNews
- Server Based Playback
- RTS/VLink
- Robotic cameras
- IFB & general audio knowledge
