Your New Role...

Warner Bros. Discovery and Magnolia Network seeks a Director of Publicity for the Magnolia PR team to lead all media relations and communications efforts.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Communications for HBO & Max Original Content, this position will help strategically guide the public relations practices of Magnolia publicity team.

The Director of Publicity will be a key figure in the development and implementation of media relations campaigns and strategies that will consistently drive positive exposure for Magnolia brand and series.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Work with Sr. Marketing, Publicity executives, and network & brand leadership to develop cutting-edge publicity campaign strategies on Magnolia brand and content launches.
  • Supervise the execution of publicity strategies in conjunction with project leads and publicity support team.
  • Develop deep relationships with talent and talent reps, producers and partners to effectively manage and negotiate all talent and logistical requirements for press activity, including set visits, tours, premieres and press junkets.
  • Assist with awards campaign strategizing including the Emmys, guilds, etc.
  • Manage external PR agencies responsible for organizing press activity and executing press strategies.
  • Manage and maintain publicity budgets for all projects.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in publicity or closely related field.
  • Previous experience directly related to the television / motion picture/ publicity industry.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the media industry and specifically the OTT, SVOD and digital marketplace.
  • Experience writing and distributing press announcements
  • Experience managing and working with senior level executives and talent
  • Extensive, proven relationships with entertainment media
  • Experience in client services, project management, and negotiating positive outcomes.
  • Experience working with high-level executives on confidential projects.
  • Experience with developing press relationships across multiple platforms (entertainment, technology, financial, etc.)

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $91,000.00 - $169,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
