Your New Role...

Are you a talented designer bursting with ideas and a passion for broadcast promotion and storytelling? Are you ready to craft bold, impactful campaigns that captivate sport audiences? Join our dynamic team at one of the world's leading film and TV companies, where you'll play a key role in shaping campaigns that connect across every platform.

This role is an exciting opportunity to manage a team of designers of varying levels, designing for all media (motion & static) working across our premium Sport channel TNT Sports on linear and our streaming platform Discovery+. As a senior member of the Sport Creative Team, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the design team in producing stunning, commercially effective design work; helping our clients and stakeholders achieve their goals, raising the bar in creative innovation and ensuring consistency of quality. You'll help develop and champion our brand identities across platforms.

You will be a natural creative with a passion for great design, particularly in broadcast, but you will have your finger on the pulse of what's hot across the industry and have an obsession for bringing that to your work. You'll work closely, with managers from Creative, Production and Account Management to allocate the best teams for the job and collaborate to create outstanding solutions. You'll provide sign-off on creative work and present / pitch ideas to stakeholders as needed alongside the Creative and Account Managers.

You will be detail oriented whilst also being able to see the bigger picture when it counts. You will have proven experience in delivering high quality motion graphics and be an expert in using the Adobe Creative Suite, along with tech like Cinema 4D, Davinci or Flame.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Bring Ideas to Life: Build and lead a strong and successful visual design team to collaborate and work alongside the creative team to execute innovative and unique creative concepts that align with campaign goals and audience needs. Inspiring the best and most effective techniques and craftmanship to best deliver key messaging to viewers.
  • Drive Innovation: Stay ahead of industry and sport market competition and trends, bringing fresh ideas that push the boundaries of broadcast design communication.
  • Collaborate Proactively: working with Production to scope and plan the team's work ensuring appropriate resourcing. Commission creative agencies and freelancers as and when necessary. Liaise with other internal creative teams and departments as necessary to benefit from shared experience and learnings. Maintain effective client and departmental communication and collaboration, pitching to senior stakeholders building healthy relationships and partnerships.
  • Elevate Every Brief: Receive and effectively interpret marketing briefs (challenging and refining them where necessary) ensuing that consequent ideas meet the brief. Act as brand champion and guardian, ensuring consistency (of brand and tone of voice) across all creative executions.
  • Adapt and Deliver: Efficiently manage multiple projects, maintaining high-quality work even under tight deadlines.
  • Inspire and Develop: Manage the design and branding of our content through on-air communication, print and digital. Define and drive the visual identity of TNT Sports.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • You have experience of creative management and line management - able to be an inspirational champion for the team
  • You can demonstrate understanding and affinity with the sport genre, their content and audiences. You understand fandom and are immersed in the world of sport.
  • You have the ability to inform, understand and apply audience insight and knowledge of the brand to creative ideas.
  • You understand stakeholder management and have the ability to sell in and fight for the strongest creative solutions with marketing and other stakeholders while being sympathetic to the needs and challenges of a fast moving environment with commercial needs.
  • You have an expert understanding of multi-platform branding
  • Multitasking super powers; possess the ability to lead on key projects whilst overseeing several other designers and their work: providing guidance, support and constructive feedback.
  • You have proven experience in graphic design and art direction in the media industry or within an advertising, creative, or digital agency, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional award winning work.
  • You have an innate ability to problem solve with design led thinking, a passion for great design and an obsession with typography and composition.
  • In-depth knowledge of all production and post-production processes and the ability to build templates that are easy to incorporate into workflows.
  • Ability to interrogate and interpret marketing and creative briefs.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
