Your New Role:
In this position, you will manage and analyze content-related data to ensure high-quality outputs and streamline content operations. Key responsibilities include data scrubbing, mapping, and management to support our content strategies and streaming initiatives. A strong background in data analysis and a deep understanding of the entertainment industry are essential, as you will be managing large datasets and interpreting complex data. Your role will involve tackling high-impact analytical challenges and developing innovative, data-driven solutions for our upcoming streaming global launches.
The Daily - Major Activities
Data Analysis
- Conduct thorough data analysis on large datasets to identify trends, patterns, gaps, risks, and insights related to content delivery, metadata, localization requirements, images, and other content readiness operational metrics for global linear and streaming distribution.
- Translate analytic insights into actionable recommendations to close gaps in operational processes and/or define business enhancements and communicate these findings clearly to a broad audience.
Reporting & Data Visualization
- Present data insights to stakeholders in a compelling and understandable manner through consolidated executive summaries and ad-hoc reports that drive key decision-making across operational working groups.
- Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Airtable) to create and maintain interactive dashboards that effectively communicate data findings for global content operation workstreams: Localization, Images, Metadata, Compliance, Ad-Marking, Technical Versioning, Title Structure.
- Identify and report on key operational performance indicators (KPIs) and trends to support functional and efficient services and capabilities.
Data Scrubbing & Harmonization
- Standardize and consolidate data from multiple sources to create a unified dataset for analysis.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in data definitions and formats, as well as identify and rectify inaccuracies in operational data.
- Develop and implement data cleaning processes to maintain data integrity and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional content operations teams to ensure transparency and compliance with data quality standards.
Data Mapping & Optimization
- Create and maintain comprehensive data mapping documentation to align content operational data with business objectives.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate data integration across systems for internal operational reporting.
- Maintain thorough documentation of data flows, methodologies, and findings related to streaming deliverables.
- Gather insights from current content data workflows and review them to identify bottlenecks, exposing strategic opportunities that yield efficiency gains and define points for optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Support
- Work closely with operational leads and regional business stakeholders to understand data and reporting needs, providing necessary data analysis support.
- Collaborate with global content, operations, and tech teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in a data-driven manner.
- Ensure asset integrity and delivery for all content types from end-to-end, from both consumer and editorial perspectives.
- Actively contribute to team discussions and provide valuable insights and suggestions for improvements.
- Foster data science and analytics innovations in our workspace and upskill the broader team.
The Essentials
- 3+ years of technical experience in end-to-end data practices, including data engineering, business intelligence, descriptive and diagnostic analytics, and storytelling with data. Strong understanding of the interactions and dependencies between these functions.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, management information systems, or an analytical field.
- Expertise in eliciting and documenting data reporting requirements through use cases, user stories, and various formats (e.g., interactive dashboards, workflow diagrams, dataflow diagrams, screen wireframes).
- High proficiency in Causal Inference and standard tech stack (Python, R, SQL), along with strong skills in data manipulation using spreadsheets.
- Adaptable to fast-changing environments and moving targets, with the ability to build and manage relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Creative thinker comfortable with ambiguity and able to quickly synthesize data into meaningful insights.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Advocate for stakeholders, passionate about delivering the best user experience possible.
- Self-starter who thrives with a high level of autonomy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interfacing with all levels within the organization.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Big Content Fan. Passionate about the moving image and compulsively curious about the intricacies of the entertainment business.
The Nice to Haves
- Experience working in a multinational corporation.
- At least 2 years in media operations.
- Background in broadcast roles (playout, transmission, graphics, post-production, content management).
- Strong knowledge of media supply chain processes.
- Experience in programming or content planning analysis.
- Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Trello).
