Your New Role...

The TNT Sports Live Events team is responsible for developing and executing consumer-facing, live events across the company's rights portfolio that engage attendees, enhance broadcasts, and generate opportunities for partner participation. The group works closely with Sports Ad Sales, Integrated Marketing, Bleacher Report (B/R) Content & Consumer Marketing, Sports & B/R Broadcast, Production and House of Highlights teams across these events to create memorable experiences for those attending in-person and viewing from home or on a device. The team's event work includes:

  • Nine NCAA Fan Events/Fan Festivals NCAA Championships within the NCAA Corporate Champion and Partner program
  • NBA on TNT events, including the Road Show franchise and NBA All-Star fan events
  • NHL on TNT Winter Classic pregame activation and concert
  • House of Highlights Creator League and Showdown franchises
  • Various live POD and VOD casts
  • The Match golf franchise
  • Other tentpole events within growing rights portfolio

In addition to the internal work, the group has produced events for external clients.

TNT Sports Live Events is responsible for all aspects of the live events, including concepting and ideation, budgeting, production and operations, activation execution, and fulfilling on-air look-ins and integrations. The group also works closely with sponsors and activation agencies to ensure seamless partner integration into the events.

This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of an external Client's on the ground college sports activation platform which includes activation at seven (7) events per year. The assistant manager works with clients on a day-to-day basis, oversees program logistics, manages field teams/vendors, serves as the POC for the NCAA and maintains the program budget. Additionally, this individual will aid the Manager Brand + Activation with ideating and executing other TNT Sports sponsor and brand activations.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • The Assistant Manager will serve as Client's day-to-day point of contact for the college sports activation program which includes receiving client requests, provide program updates, obtaining client approvals and delivering program documents (overviews, recaps, etc). Other duties include brainstorming new elements as well as enhancements to existing elements, developing in-venue video board content, ticket upgrades and enter-to-win contests.
  • This position requires the individual to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to present at meetings, build decks, and lead calls is crucial to the success of this position. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented and organized, be able to multitask, be resourceful, self-directed, motivated, and have the confidence to ask questions when needed. Additionally, this role requires significant engagement with external partners and clients; candidates should be comfortable with being on video for Zoom meetings, responding to requests within 24-48 hours as required, and providing regular updates to key stakeholders on assigned projects.
  • They will work with the NCAA and TNT Sports Ad, Sales to ensure proper execution of the Client's activation program and other in-venue sponsorship elements. This includes participating in the weekly status calls, submitting all in-venue activations and fan festival activations through the NCAA approval system for all necessary approvals.
  • Responsible for tracking the program budgets which are in excess of $2M. Works with the Manager Brand + Activation and finance on invoicing and reconciling the budget.
  • Oversee program logistics and onsite execution which includes sourcing and managing vendors and contractors, warehousing, transportation, event signage, premiums, uniforms and brand ambassadors. Create brand ambassador talking points and conduct training sessions. Work with the event venues/event managers on all on-site logistics including layouts, load-in and load-out times, electrical, internet needs and other event logistics as needed.
  • Participate in TNT Sports brainstorm and ideation sessions for new activations and RFP responses. Assist team members with ideating and executing activations for other TNT Sports events.

Qualifications & Experiences...

  • 3 - 4 years of event management and activation experience
  • 2 - 3 years of client management and/or brand management experience
  • Proven experience executing large-scale events and activations, including vendor management and budget oversight
  • Extensive work directly with sponsors, venues, contractors and vendors
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience building presentations and presenting in a group setting
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excels in a dynamic team, and can communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders
  • Understanding of event production and operations, including scheduling and multi-faceted nature of large-scale events
  • Proven experience forecasting, managing and reconciling program budgets
  • Strong work ethic and an ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to a variety of event environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20-30% of the year, including weekend and holidays
