What you'll do...
As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll will be a subject matter expert and collaborate with a diverse team of engineers on the CTE team. You will help set the tone of engineering-excellence and drive processes and standards for telemetry. You will contribute to the design of complex software changes and take on the development of exciting new features. In addition, you will partner with your senior and junior teammates throughout the software development lifecycle to cultivate a reciprocal learning environment from development to debugging and operational excellence.
- Contribute to the design and development of telemetry and orchestration systems, automated detection and alerting of baseline drift, and initiatives under product roadmaps.
- Identify key telemetry required to solution for specific use cases.
- Monitor the health, security and performance of endpoints and application components in real time to build actionable insights and analytics for the business
- Actively participate and lead the technical requirements analysis, design review, contract closure with cross-functional teams across the globe.
- Participate in and identify architectural improvements, code review, best practices, delivering testable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Mentor/coach other engineers in the team to facilitate their development and to provide technical leadership to them.
- Manage and maintain multiple production and non-production environments, ensuring that these environments are setup with the standard automated build and releases processes & deliver with quality, reliability.
- Build, leverage and analyze tools, application logs, and analytics data to determine improvements to the product and engineering services.
- Set high standards for operational excellence and system observability.
- Encourage a culture of innovation, creativity, and high standards within the team, promoting the adoption of new technologies and best practices.

About the Team:
The Client Telemetry Engineering (CTE) team is responsible for design, development, and operations of end point telemetry systems which assist our associates in having the best in class digital experience. We interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable, robust technical solutions.
What you'll bring:
- 8+ years of professional experience with 5+ years of hands-on large scale telemetry systems such as OpenTelemetry, Splunk, DataDog etc
- 5+ years of hands-on programming experience in Python, Ruby, Java, REST.
- Excellent computer systems fundamentals, DS/Algorithms, and problem-solving skills
- Strong Experience in system monitoring , logging, tracing, and triaging tools ( e.g. Grafana, Splunk, Kibana etc.)
- Strong experience with SQL /No-SQL and database, distributed caching, distributed event store and stream-processing technologies (MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, CosmosDB, Elastic, Redis, Kafka etc.)
- Experience in systems design, design patterns, microservices and distributed systems.
- Large-scale distributed services experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Azure, GCP, or Open Stack.
- Knowledge of common Data Warehousing and Data Analytics/Science concepts

Sunnyvale, California US-04397:The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-09050:The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
