What You'll Do:

Collaborate Across Geographies:

  • Interact with Walmart engineering teams across various locations.
  • Leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  • Deliver outstanding products.

Work with Architects and Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Collaborate with Distinguished & Principal Architects.
  • Follow established practices to meet QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) standards within architectural guidelines.

Team Building and Hiring:

  • Participate in hiring.
  • Build and enable high-performing agile teams.

Design and Development:

  • Create high-level and low-level designs.
  • Drive the design process.

Quality and Best Practices:

  • Develop and enforce quality standards, best practices, and non-functional standards.
  • Guide teams in executing these standards.

Mentorship and Leadership:

  • Mentor and lead a team of engineers.
  • Lead one or more teams as a team lead.
  • Influence teams to deliver high-quality results.

Implementation of Models and Algorithms:

  • Implement cutting-edge models and algorithms operating on massive data.

Cross-Functional Interaction:

  • Engage with Walmart's cross-functional engineering teams (cloud, platform, analytics, etc.) across geographies.
  • Leverage technical expertise and contribute to the engineering community.

What You'll Bring:

Experience:

  • 10+ years in the design and development of highly scalable distributed applications and platforms, particularly for multi-tenant, SaaS products.
  • 2+ years of experience with GraphQL.
  • Experience building a 'Code, Deploy, Run' pipeline using DevOps best practices with CI/CD tools.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Microservices, and Cloud Native Architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices and RESTful web services development in Java SpringBoot, Spring Kafka, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud Native Architecture, Microservice Architecture, and related stacks (Service Registry, ELK/Splunk, VMs, etc.) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure/Google Cloud).

Additional Skills:

  • Exposure to Node.JS and TypeScript is a plus.
  • Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in new and emerging technologies.

Soft Skills:

  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask across several priority areas.
  • Strong desire to drive change and adapt quickly.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building.
  • Ability to influence and persuade without direct control.

Methodologies:

  • Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns, and configuration tools for faster development.
  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
