What you'll do...

We are looking for an accomplished corporate communications manager to join us as the Senior Manager, Corporate Executive Communications, supporting CARE senior leadership and external relations efforts. This role drives cross-functional connectivity in our overall position in the Walmart landscape.

Responsibilities

Executive and Corporate Communications

  • Craft Compelling Content: Translate our mission, vision, and values into relevant messaging and powerful storytelling that drive the company's corporate positioning and brand.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work with senior leadership and key subject matter experts across the enterprise to brainstorm, draft, and deliver a variety of communications including talking points, Q&As, social media and video content, scripted remarks, leadership notes, and press releases.
  • Prepare Briefing Materials: Draft concise yet detailed briefing materials used to prepare executive leaders for internal and external engagements.
  • Central Hub for Materials: Collaborate with Executive Communications leads across the company and serve as the central hub for corporate and executive leadership materials, narrative, and priorities.

Communication Strategy and Operations

  • Employee Engagement Review Process: Own the employee external speaking engagement review process, including approvals, trainings, and materials review.
  • Performance Metrics: Supervise performance metrics in coordination with media monitoring and employee communications teams to assess executive engagements.
  • Internal and Executive Communication: Accountable for all internal and executive communication that effectively educates, engages, and inspires internal and external audiences.
  • Storytelling: Connect and integrate across the global business to uncover powerful stories that resonate with key audiences and demonstrate Care’s culture, key priorities, and values in action.

Strategic Thought Leadership

  • Consult and Influence: Proactively shape communication by serving as a consultant, influencer, and strategic thought partner to team, peers, leadership, and business partners to solve business and audience needs.
  • Communication Tactics: Advise on appropriate communication vehicle and frequency, as well as oversee the development of internal and executive communications tactics.
  • Event Preparation: Conduct presentation preparation, event rehearsals, and manage logistics and handle urgent needs, as required.

Vision and Strategy

  • Establish Vision and Strategy: Establish short and long-term vision and strategy for internal communications in consultation with function head.
  • Analyze Business Objectives: Work out a strategy document with overall direction by analyzing business objectives and needs.
  • Resource and Process Planning: Plan resource requirements; evaluate operational processes; measure outcomes to ensure desired results; and identify and capitalize on improvement and opportunity areas.

Future Communications

  • Create Strategic Communications: Build and leverage resources and relationships to create strategic communications.
  • Direct and Influence: Direct, facilitate, influence, and inspire a shared network of communicators with direct or indirect reporting relationships.
  • Develop Internal Channels: Establish internal channels or capabilities such as digital channels, social media capabilities, and processes.
  • Adhere to Messaging and Branding: Develop and ensure adherence to messaging and branding strategy of the company.
  • Content for Executive Communications: Provide content for executive communications internally and serve as counsel during preparation of the executive leadership for internal engagements.
  • Master Calendar of Communications: Maintain and execute master calendar of communications; share calendars with other functions to ensure alignment; review communications activities; edit content.
  • Optimize Global Resources: Identify, align, and optimize global internal communication resources and systems such as Spark Notifications, Teams, One Walmart, etc.
  • Policy Rollout: Partner with appropriate departments (e.g., Legal, Human Resources) to roll out policies most effectively.

Platforms and Events

  • Cascade Key Messages: Use platforms and events to cascade messages of culture, ethics, compliance, and community engagement.
  • Cultivate Integrity and Ethics: Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Leverage Internal Networks: Develop and leverage internal networks to maximize the achievement of and communicate key community outreach and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Engage key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; support associate efforts in these areas.

Innovation and Best Practices

  • Stay Current: Stay current on industry and business best practices.
  • Innovative Ideas: Oversee the development of new and innovative ideas.
  • Standardize Processes: Develop and ensure standardization of processes to improve efficiency and quality and mitigate risk around the use of communication materials and tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 5 years of writing and communications experience including crafting messaging for senior leadership (i.e., C-suite), preferably in the entertainment or tech industry.
  • Track Record: Proven record in producing high-quality, compelling products for senior executives or industry leaders.
  • Business-Savvy: Ability to see the world through the lens of multiple stakeholders: senior executives, consumers, industry authorities, and the larger business community.
  • Industry Awareness: General awareness of business trends and media industry trends including familiarity with content from major national newspapers, magazines, and websites with awareness of the issues that define the moment.
  • Education: Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, or other relevant major.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
