Marketplace Engineering team is well rounded passionate engineering org focused on all aspects of Seller with sharp focus on Engineering and Operational excellence. This role works closely with other Architects, lead engineers, managers across the org to lead technical aspect of large-scale, cross-functional distributed systems and technical excellence.

You will need to translate business requirements into scalable, highly available, architectures leveraging micro-service architectures and the latest technologies. You should have significant experience building and operating Software-as-a-Service at the highest scale.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Providing thought leadership and defining technology strategies.
  • Being an admired subject matter expert in one or multiple technology areas.
  • Directing and reviewing architectural artifacts (proof of concepts, prototypes, architectural design) and providing valuable recommendations for improvements.
  • Advising or conducting POCs to vet out new technologies.
  • Driving for Architecture, Engineering, Technology and Operational excellence
  • Understand the critical success criteria for any project and take a fail-fast (or, preferably, succeed fast) approach to informing/proving system design and architecture.
  • Building systems that are easy to operate and scale delivering the highest SLAs
  • Big-picture and strategic thinking.
  • Delivering with agility, urgency, and quality.
  • Building trust and credibility quickly with Sr. Leadership and stakeholders.
  • Being a self-starter, with a mindset for innovation and Can-Do Spirit.
  • Being bold and taking calculated risks.
  • Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands on experience with public or private cloud offerings.

What you'll bring...

  • A minimum of 15 years overall experience.
  • Experience with Azure, GCP, or private cloud.
  • Well versed in architecture disciplines and designed high performance, large scalable, and resilient enterprise systems.
  • Proven track record of designing, delivering, and supporting large scale, mission critical services
  • Significant experience evaluating, assessing, and recommending enterprise-wide cutting edge technology components
  • Familiar with integrating data science analytics and ML models into real-time applications.
  • A passionate technologist and abreast with industry trends and innovation
  • Define reusable and proven patterns, frameworks, reference models to drive Engineering and Architecture quality and speed.
  • Train and mentor junior architects and engineers in globally distributed teams.
  • Strong Java experience with SQL. NoSQL, Messaging, Queuing, Caching are all required.
  • Strong experience with Networking concepts, Security, CDNs, Cloud Services (Azure and GCP preferred), DevOps, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting best practices and tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, Splunk are highly desirable.
  • Experience with distributed NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Riak, ScyllaDB, Aerospike, etc.)
  • Strong operational skills and awareness are a must.
  • Go getter approach to problem solving to work across organizations.
  • Be able to code and prototype, do code reviews and design reviews

The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
