The Director of Emissions Programs will work to lead our strategy development and implementation for emissions priorities and integrate them across the global business. This includes:
- Lead the implementation of our plan to reduce GHG emissions across Walmart's value chain emissions through supplier and customer engagement. Including updating roadmaps and tracking progress for our operations and supply chain. In addition, develop a carbon balance sheet to understand our full emissions impact.
- Represent Walmart with key NGOs and serve on relevant standard committees to contribute and stay abreast of industry and standards best practices and emerging trends.
- Drive the development of innovative approaches and technologies to drive action on emissions reduction.
- Providing targeted support to the Walmart Energy Transformation team in their efforts to ensure Walmart delivers zero emissions by 2040 across our operations and to the Walmart operations teams in developing and addressing nature-based solutions across the Walmart real estate portfolio.
What you'll do:
- Develop emissions reduction plans and strategies across the value chain.
- Track and report on emissions performance using CDP, DJSI, and other relevant frameworks.
- Contribute to enterprise risk assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business decisions and operations.
- Build action plan with key abatement drivers: Responsible for identifying key abatement drivers and integrating them into the action plan to achieve significant GHG emissions reductions.
What you'll bring:
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Excellent ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies related to emissions change mitigation and sustainability in a clear and compelling manner.
- Proficient in creating comprehensive strategic presentations and proposals for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence across a matrixed organization with a proven history of navigating complex organizational structures and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive consensus on key initiatives and strategies, regardless of reporting lines. Experience in managing resources effectively to achieve emissions action and sustainability goals.
- Adept at coordinating with external partners, such as NGOs and industry leaders, to advance Walmart's emissions goals and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements:
- Subject matter expertise in emissions
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (master's degree preferred)
- At least 7-10 years of experience in sustainability, emissions change, or a related field.
- Proven record of developing and implementing successful emissions action plans and reducing GHG emissions.
- Strong understanding of emissions change mitigation strategies and emerging trends in sustainability
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the organization and industry.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
